Ice Show Deals

What did they raise the price to on the FXE Snosuit? At $179 for each piece I would have made the trip tomorrow. Normally each piece lists for over $300 so that would have been a great buy. Any chance they will have them close to the $179 tomorrow?

I just got the thumbs up from SWMBO to buy a new auger. I have a torn rotor cuff, and pulling the cord on my old Jiffy 31 last season was a killer. Hoping to find a nice deal on a StrikeMaster.
BD1101, your situation made me think when some company is going to put a elc start unit on their auger? I know is would add some weight but not much more then a full tank of propane on those new ones. It wouldn't take a very big starter motor or battery to turn over those little motors. They seem to be putting new gizmos on everything now a days. So, remember if you see one with a starter in a few years, you heard it from me first! laugh

Had the same problem at Reeds.Girl says one price, guy says its a lower price, girl wont sell for lower price and insists shes right of course. I left. I only went there because I needed a Strikemaster suit for a gift and I new they had them for $190.If you werent there to save somme money on some of the clothing it wasnt worth the 10 to park and 8 to get in.

I picked up a new rod case from JR's and a Big Dipper ice scoop, a few new jigs and small plastics. Met a few Pro staff FM'ers in the HSO booth. (thanks for the hat Rick). Brother picked up a JR's bag and a new LX3 for his 2nd yr ice fishing. Ran into the caravan from Duluth too. Lotsa people in there and many good deals left.

I think I did pretty good. TB treated us right, got a Fat fish 949 for $170.00 along with a HB Ice 45 for $350.00.they also included the free soft case for the HB 45, And I still get the $45.00 rebate from HB. I was glad to give the sale to Thorne Bros. Good group of guys. Oh also got the Eskimo free hats, 2 of them.

Gotta say I was not impressed with Reeds CS, I usually buy something from them every show. But I looked for people to help and no one to be found waited around for 20 minutes and still no one. It was REALLY busy today so I have to give them some what of a break. Still not going to beg anyone to take my money.

JOE'S they didnt stand a chance. Same deal as everyone else had marked with no add ons.

WTG Thorne Bros!!!

got an hummingbird ice 55 for 405 - 55 rebate= $350 bucks at pro fishing supply! Could have bought any ottter thermal fish house for $100 under normal price. Unbelivable amount of people there from 10 a.m. to 1.p.m could hardly move around in there!

There were deals to be had up there, we liked the QF3 for 139.99, The 949 Fatfish for 199.00 and other items.

We looked booking a trip for Devils lake and I only came out of there with a rod/tackle storage box that was up by the entrance.

They wanted 125.99 each, we got 2 for 230.00, slight deal, but they are awesome!

Tons of people, have never seen it that bad before, couple of reasons I think. No fishable ice, was told this is the only State to hold an ice fishing expo. Yea to Minnesota!

I spoke with a member here (Phil K) who drove all the way from Fort Wayne Indiana and was taking home a truck load of goodies for his friends!

Got a pair of the nice vex bibs from reeds booth for $84.00. I was happy with that. they were 30% off of a probably high price to start but i figured about 90 bucks or so... Going to be nice to have the padded knees. Also picked up a neoprene 1 lb propane tank cover to help from freeze up. Was 5 bucks. 6" power auger blades for the lazer smile going to rip again! Finally I picked up a pro mount from thorne for 12 bucks should have bought 2 for swapping vex to different things still might get one, will be nice for the boat too.

When i saw the fxe snosuits on friday the "show" price was $558 for the bib and jacket combo and $279 each piece, i never saw them at $179.

There were hand written tags at Marine General on Friday night when I bought a pair of bibs there. This morning, there were fewer sizes for FXE bibs/jackets. However, the same Frabill rep working there (as Friday) confirmed that the price was still the same, and he would walk me over to the Frabill booth to pick it up if they didn't have one there at Marine General.

After trying on an XL again, I still didn't like the short fit and the extra long sleeves.

Went on Saturday and found some gear but it was kind of a mess trying to walk around. They really need to open the floor space up a little and utilize the entire hall they were in. Unfortunately most of the show floor was taken up by perm manufacturers.

When we got there, I seen about a dozen people walking around with nice rectangular rod cases with 2 big pockets off the side but could never find where they were getting them from. They weren't the Clam ones but if anyone has an idea where they were or where a guy could find them it would be much appreciated.

those rod boxes were on floor above, walked by them and they looked awesome, but did not have time to stop and chat cause line to get in at opening was moving and forgot to go back b4 left

i think someone already posted about them above though.

Anyone know the name of them? Or who has gotten them can you give a little review of what they're like and maybe some pics of it?

    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
