How many bucks in other states?

In watching some of these hunting shows, it seems hunters are able to take 2, 3 or more bucks in a year. One early season, one landowner, one late season (in Iowa). Is Minnesota the only state that allows a hunter to only take one buck per year, per hunter?

You may not know, but the shows are filmed almost exclusively on private land where the owners can provide as many tags to these guys as they want. Many are in fenced property.

If the average "Joe" went out to film a hunting show on land we hunt, it would take them YEARS to get enough good footage to edit for a 20 minute show.

Every state is different. For example, in North Dakota, it is only guaranteed that you can shoot a buck if you buy a bow tag. Otherwise, you have to draw a buck tag. But at the same time, it is possible to take 3 bucks if you were to get an archery tag, and draw both a gun (antlered) tag and a muzzleloader (antlered) tag.

Basically, it just boils down to the number of deer and the way they are managed.

What's this MN 1 buck ? For me yes I'm satisfied and will use my tag if I take a buck but I know way too many people unfortunately that take as many bucks as tags they can find, there wives have tags, their relatives that only hunt 1st weekend leave their tags behind to be used up first, if you call to register they don't know who they're talking to for real. I wish it was you pull on a buck your buck tag is gone, that's the way it should be but that's not the way it is because they want to have a buck tag now for muzzleloader, many many people hunt that way and it's sad they take a buck and they don't reach for their wallet, they reach for a cell phone to start looking for a tag so there season isn't over then. It's part of what's wrong with our tagging systems or whatever. That party hunting rule is a crock really meaning many abuse the daylights out of the intent of it. I know now 4 people who dropped bucks and "found" tags and they still have their muzzy buck tag, you have the weakest link of people you know tag it for ya and it's like a brand new season the next day. You can blast as many bucks as you can find tags unfortunately. Bet it rubs bow hunters the wrong way.

Not legally you can't. Instead of letting this behavior go unnoticed, it would be nice if folks help out our limited supply of conservation officers and crack down on this type of behavior. You're right, I'm a bowhunter and it really chaps my hide.

This rubs me the wrong way, bow hunter or not. Shoot what is legal for you to shoot and call it a great season. I think this kind of situation os the biggest downfall of the call in system, makes cheating way to easy.

Indiana is 1 buck also...I don't think they've been mentioned yet.

In MI, a hunter can shoot two bucks, but there's stipulations depending on the zone. That said, at least one of the bucks has to have at least 3 points on one side. I could go into more detail, but it's pretty complicated to understand unless you know the area.

That said, be thankful you have a OBR (one buck rule). I wish we had it here...it's one reason I go out of State every year I know that. The only other thing they could do to keep me here is getting away from TDM and increasing APR's.
