Favorite gutting knife

The landowner of the property I hunt helped me field dress a deer once when we hunted an afternoon together on different sides of his land. He used a Swing Blade. Most amazing thing I ever seen. So I am opting for one as soon as I can put a deer on the ground with my bow after they finish their gun hunts.

I have actually used many different knives over the years and have finally settled on a folding buck 110 style from the BIG C. I have the hunter style with the long blade that looks good, but just didn't feel as manuverable to me. I also have a caping knife that I carry just in case but I pull out that folding knife out first, I use a butt out tool which works great, and a hagens bone saw. The first couple times I used the butt out tool the guys I hunt with made the usual jokes, but after watching me field dress with one, they all carry one. Keeping them Sharp is the Key.....I always carry a sharpener and sharpen it before I start and after I clean it up at camp

Buck zipper is my primary, have a couple of folding buck knives as well but the best knife I have is a Remington drop point fixed blade with a nie heavy tang and 6 inch blade with the point sharpened at bothe sides. Great knife, got it from my grandma when grandpa passed away and it is still the best knife I own but the Buck zipper is a close second:)

I had a beautiful cold steel knife with rubber handle and 6-inch blade that got stolen last year. So this year I picked up a nice Buck Zipper with blaze orange rubber handle and gut hook. Sharp as a razor, and it was fun to blood a Buck knife on a buck. smile

I love knives. Kinda like chainsaws and hats. Can't have enough of any of them!
