I applaud the Vikes for not allowing Cook to travel with the team.

"The fact that he will be suspended from our team really lets you know how concerned we are about what happened," coach Leslie Frazier said.

The world does not need people like this.

{The woman told police Cook threw her on the bed and tried to strangle her. She freed herself, but then he hit her and grabbed her neck again, the complaint said. Prosecutors said police arrived at Cook's suburban Eden Prairie home to find the woman crying and bloodied, with marks on her neck and hemorrhaging in her eye, consistent with strangulation.}

i also looked at the police report and saw what you posted. police dont make up this stuff, they put down exactly what they observe and interview the victim if possible. i talked to my brother about this and he has seen years of simmiliar abuse [some even by women on their husbands]. he is a retired police officer. i also have seen some while in the service as a military policeman. glad that the neighbor who heard the yelling and the screeming called police or the circumstances could have been much worse possibly. everyone will have their day in court unless they admitt the crime. cook says there are two sides of the story. realy? well he can tell his side to a jury and explain why his girfriend has hemorrhaging eye's and a bloody head and he apparently is in good physical shape. good luck.

Different thread, same argument. I'll wait for the verdict after trial.

I covered crime for a daily newspaper for some years, as well as being editor of crime reporters for another daily paper, and I've seen quite a few criminal complaints with fundamentally inaccurate information. For one thing, witness accounts in the criminal complaint are ALWAYS against the defendant. It's the nature of criminal complaints. They are the prosecution's first and sometimes most forceful presentation of their case. Doesn't always make them right, and they often leave out or minimize evidence that would tend to point toward the innocence of the one charged.

The police and prosecutors have very difficult jobs, and by and large are excellent at those jobs. Law enforcement is the glue that holds society together. I still have close friends among them from my journalism days. But even talented, dedicated and driven people get things wrong sometimes.

That's why it takes more than the police and prosecutors to make a criminal justice system.

Could well be he did every last thing alleged in the complaint. Could be he didn't. I sure don't know what really happened, and neither do any of you.

I did alot of really dumb things when I was his age, too. Never been accused of anything even close to what he's facing though. I'm with Steve on this one...let's let this play out and see how it ends. There's alot of money grubbing people out there looking for an easy pay-day. That being said, there are way too many victims of domestic abuse out there that need to be protected.

My opinion is he will never play a down again in the NFL. Young, dumb, and full of you know what...

I see Pac Man Jones suited up for the 1st time this year last weekend...if he can still be in the league...anything can happen, I guess.

in this case the woman face was bloody, hemorahging in the eye [consistant with strangulation]. also marks on the neck, consistant with strangulation. this was put in a police report, and police officers stated what they witnessed. it is true that in many cases of harrassment and aledged physical abuse money is a motive. in the end i would assume there may be money asked for in this case. however the victims physical condition speaks for itself. i doubt she did this by herself. no charges are placed on Cook's roomate who whitnessed this attack.

Cook can afford a good lawyer, where the average Joe cant. justice is not equal in many cases due to the affordability of high priced lawyers. Cook will have his day in court and we are only expressing our opinions as to what we see in the press and police reports. in this case, i side with the victim, due to the police report and the physical evidence provided by the police officers there at the location of the attack. unless the victim in this case says it didn't happen, i dont see Cook having a good day in court. good luck.

Heard on the radio that team is internally discussing their options what to do with him. He can be suspended (no pay) for 4 games. Then deactivated for remainder of the season and then be released. They also need to ask if they should give him a second chance. If released and someone picks him up and he turns into superstar (like Chris Carter) team will look stupid. Team is not in a good situation, bad PR with stadium talks. Since this is his first offense he might get probation.

I don't think that a team ever looks stupid for making strong moral decisions versus decisions based upon success or money. Yes the guy can turn his life around, but often it takes the drastic consequence of losing one's job before the message gets through.
