At 6pm she(Amy age 15) passed on a 150 pounder,"it was to cute to shoot". At 7pm she said to me "if that little one comes back I am going to shoot it". At 8:05 she said "Dad there a bear", I said that's the one, shoot it. she shot it just where we practiced and it went 20 feet with a broken heart. We where both shaking, it was awesome.

What a great bear it's a true trophy give her a high five for me, it's one of those things that you and her will never forget, a life long memory you two will talk about the rest of your lives. Matt, we played those bears like a banjo. They where coming in after 9 every night. So we skipped a night of baiting/hunting. This probably only worked because we had a "new Little bear" start hitting the bait a few days before. I think everybody became more competitive for the bait. And when there was none for a night everyone thought the other one ate it and decided to come to dinner a little earlier.

I love the physiological aspect of bear baiting, to be successful you have to get into there head and play games. Both bears we have taken have had a "strategic plan" involved, and I have learned a ton in my extensive 2 seasons of bear hunting.

It is a blessing to have everyone's knowledge, encouragement and experience here on the boards, it adds a lot of fun and community to a solitary sport like bear hunting.
