Signs of spring

Well on an up note this morning I heard and saw my first ducks of the year doing the mating chase thing..good to see, any one else seeing signs of spring?

Saw a flock of Canada's and a pair of swans flying over Burnsville by the Minnesota river! Ducks been active too!

Heard a big flock of Canada's flying over Minneapolis last night. Have seen lots of ducks flying at sunset on the way home from work. Spring is right around the corner.

9 sandhill cranes flew over the house last evening - squawking and looking dorky as ever.

have been seeing more and more birds in the sky everyday now! the season is closer than you think!

There's honkers on roofs here in Maple Grove. For some reason there is one house in our neighborhood they always land on.

Saw my first Canadas a couple weeks ago, then Monday I saw bluebills on a pond and a coworker said they saw 2 canvasbacks. I will try to get pictures next week as more ducks show up on the pond.

Up here near Thief River Falls we still have quite a bit of snow...But!! I did see two different pairs of Canada geese when I went for a drive yesterday evening!

I get the pleasure or have had the pleasure of watching the geese and the duch mostly mallards all winter as the come and goe every evning onto the mississippi just south of the new Lowery bridge.there is noticabley more each day as the spring move forward

hard to see but there was a sand hill crane that landed in the back yard this am! Look at the left bottom edge of the pond!

Had a robin in the backyard for a couple miutes. First one I have seen for a while. Tried to get a quick pic.

Biggest flock of specks I've ever seen in MN just went over the house. Close to 50 birds flying high and headed west. Haven't broke out the glasses yet but pretty sure bluebirds are checking out the boxes.

seen some common sawbills, hooded sawbills, wood ducks, mallards and geese. And just like other years geese look to be thick! thick! thick!

seen more ducks yesterday than I have seen all spring. I even think I seen the first pod of bills/ringers couldnt tell but I know they were not hooded mergs or buffies.

found a small wood tick on one of the dogs i'm taking care of for my daughter. i couldn't believe it, this early. good luck.

I did see a woodduck the other day in the open water on the one end of the lake as for swans they were here all winter keeping the river from freezeing up musta been 15-20 of them, mostly juvies
