"Mystic Pinball" will be John Hiatts' 21st studio album.

At age 18, a high school dropout, he went to Nashville.

He couldn't read or write music, just played guitar.

But ... he still got a job as a songwriter, 25 bucks a week.

Every song he wrote had to be transcribed by somebody else.

As they listened to him play it.

He wrote 250 songs in 4 years !!!!!

Then ...

one of those songs was covered, and it went to #16 on the charts.

Epic Records signed Hiatt to a record deal ... the rest is history.
