We've had one for over 4 years. Wife simply loves the bed and has'nt changed her setting after the second week. I hate it!!! Would rather sleep on concrete. I'm finally having a mattress made to fit my side. I've tried every setting and I can't sleep longer than 6 hours total and I usually get up at least once a night. I was on a night shift for about six months last year and I slept on our old pillow top and boy did I sleep GREAT! Make sure you really like before the trial time expires.

My parents have one and hate it. They tried to return it and the guy talked them into trying it awhile longer. Well, too much time passed and now they are stuck with it.

I have a posterpedic knock off and absolutely love it.

I've heard a lot more negatives than positives about these. I wouldn't go with the foam mattress either. I hate foam pillws. They're too hot.

I'll stick with my 12 year old Stearns and Foster for a few more years and then buy another one.

i dont understand. when we bought our bed we tried it out first at a sleep number store in the mall in saint cloud. the wife and i were asked to lay down on our backs and the bed we were on was hooked up to a computer. with the bed set on 100 he could tell right where we both hurt the most. her (shoulders) me (my hip). i was sold right away since neither of us told him where we hurt. he then started to lower the number till it felt good. he "gave" us our numbers. 45 and 35. you guys must have bought your beds online or something??? oh. and yes we bought the king size. still dont care for it though. ha

Heck, 10 years ago we bought ours from a store in the mall (I think) and we just layed on it and floated up and down changing the settings and said "its better than our water bed". grin

I dont think they had computers yet when we got ours wink

I allways sleep on my side and dont notice any issues. We do have the good pillow top on it though.

You folks that mention the hump in the middle, I haven't had ours apart in a long time, but I dont remember a partition in the middle. I think ours the bags lay side by side if i'm not mistaken?

The only issue I really find annoying is when the wife gets this urge to lower her number and I end up rolling (down hill) on to her side. frown or basically falling off the cliff.

There are some hotels that have the select comfort beds. I slept on one in Utica, NY this summer. I personally did not like it once I realized that the bed is basically just an adjustable air mattress. I tried a couple of different settings but never found anything that felt any better than a regular bed. My parents bought a select comfort bed years ago but got rid of it within a few months because my dad couldn't sleep on it. My aunt and uncle love theirs.

I bought my mattress in 1998 for $500 at a mattress shop and have been happy since, but neither of us have back issues of note. You may be just as good going to a regular mattress shop and buying a good mattress. Do they sell half mattresses so that you and your significant other can have different hardnesses (i.e. a soft half-queen and a hard half-queen)?

My wife and I love our Select Comfort bed; we've been sleeping on it for about ten years. Two years after we originally purchased it we took it apart to move it so we could clean the carpets. I was disgusted to see the black mold that was growing on the air chambers. They were replaced under warranty after I found out that the issue was wide spread and complained to their customer service department. Apparently, early models were not treated with some type of fungicide and they had lost of problems with this. If you haven't looked at the air chambers, I'd suggest that you do so...just in case.

Waiting on the delivery guys today. ANOTHER new one. Tempurpedic "Luxe". It can't be comfortable because judging from the cost the thing is stuffed with gold bars !!!. Told the wife our next beds will be hospital beds or coffins !!

how about a review on this one? We are currently shopping for a new set ourselves
