Whats your favorite food/drink that goes in your thermos?

My favorite drink for the thermos has to be some hot chocolate. (with a good shot of Bailey's)

I also enjoy a full thermos of hot BLACK coffee in the morning.

As far as foods go, homemade chilli is awesome (this winter was the first time I ever put it in a thermos), and homemade chicken noodle soup with homemade noodles is killer when I am out on the ice or in the boat during early/late season open water.

Coffee and some bailey's is good chicken noodle soup also but since I have two Mr. heater/cookers I sometimes bring out baked beans or soup that you don't need to add water to. A few times even brought out a the hobo set and cooked ramen noodles. Even got as crafty to make up some bacon eggs and hash browns but that usually only gets done on long nights fishing.

I have 3 thermos, My old blue one is strickly coffee or hot chocolate as I bring it to work and don't want any trouble making odors on the job when I share a cup. I have a short fat one that is perfect for soups, chili or stew. The red one is "for adults only" wink

black coffee for me although some hot chocolate will sometimes come along. I don't drink the devil's juice so my beverages are always unleaded (my japa-genes give me asian flush of the highest order and I get super uncomfortable with pulsating headaches, etc - it is not not not at all worth it)

I would like to get a widemouth thermos for some soup though.

Have you guys tried Mrs Grass soup? Its in a blue box and barely has any noodles, basically just a broth. It tastes amazing in a thermos. I bought a bunch for easy cheap cooking and find that its quite a good drink for when Im out.

If you would like to try something different, try hot Chai Tea. Get the liguid concentrate and add milk. It is usually near the soy / health food products. The powdered version is not as good. You have to mix the Chai & the milk and heat it together.

My thermos only gets black coffee but I have been kicking around the idea of a wide-mouth thermos for soup. I will bring my grill out fishing and whip up some burgers or brats and if I want something quick and easy I will boil up some dogs with my single burner Coleman.

I take two thermoses - my green Stanley classic full of coffee with a little half and half, and a smaller Krups thermos whose insides have never seen anything but batches of brandy hot toddies. That's pretty much my loadout for a full day of fishing - that, 2 liter bottle of spring water, and 2 cans of honey roasted peanuts (because one is just not enough!)

Hot chocolate in my beverage thermos, don't drink coffee. I have a short fat wide mouth one I just got for xmas that even has a folding metal spoon built into the top of it. That one will be for various soups and chili. I use them more during hunting season than fishing for some reason... maybe I should change that.

Piping hot black percolated Folgers coffee from the old green Stanley. That's how I started drinking coffee years ago, when I was old enough to get up before dawn and sit in the duck boat with my dad but was still too young to have my own gun.

Over the years my tastes have refined (espresso drinks, gourmet beans) and I have come to rely on quicker methods to brew (drip makers, etc.), but whenever I am hunting, fishing or camping I like it old school - percolated, strong and black.
