FISHINGURU
The 4 games he was with us he didn't even know the playbook, the game with the Jets he barely knew any plays and was only in the game half the time, he wasn't even in during the 2 minute offense either. He still had 80 yards and a touchdown against one of the best corners in the game.He doesn't get many targets because he's double and TRIPLED, the safety sits back 20-30 yards, the coverages swung his way are unheard of. Look at Wes Welkers production before Moss and look at it after, Look at Percy's production before Moss and look at it after. You guy's are the same people that says he was washed up when we traded him to Oakland, then he goes to the Patriots and breaks the record and once again helps the Patriots be the highest scoring team ever, Moss was on the highest scoring teams in history. He's way better off now I'm happy for him, there's not many players out there that would want to play for Child, especially coming from a winning organization and a smart coaching staff. PurpleFloyd
Why do we think he can just turn it on anymore? I guess all I am trying to say is " maybe his days as a elite reciever are over". Note the hilighted maybe. I quess if he still has a lot left in the tank he now will have to show it otherwise no big contract will be coming his way. Did you see the Td he caught with the Pats against the jets when he caused Revis to pull his hammy? He still has the speed and he caught the ball with one hand in stride. He might not be the same as he was 10 years ago but he is still a valid threat on the field. He ain't the guy he was several years ago, but on the Vikes team, Harvin has lost ground because Moss baby Moss has been zapped. And if the receiving corps loses ground, don't the Vikes lose ground? AP this. AP that. Whatever! Not that I'm especially happy as a Pack fan. We've got our own hills to climb.
Scott K
Quote:Randy Moss reportedly told Vikings owner Zigy Wilf and several other team executives "in no uncertain terms" that Brad Childress was not a good coach and needed to be fired. The incident took place in the visitor's locker room after last week's loss at New England and just before Moss' rambling post-game love fest with the Patriots. Since Moss was placed on waivers, Wilf has met with several key veterans to discuss Childress among other topics. Moss' attitude was a major problem in his month with the Vikings, but he was right about Childress' coaching ability. Childress also made a mistake in not checking with the owner before he made up his mind to dump Moss. It's hard to picture Childress staying on in 2011 unless he direct a miraculous second-half turnaround.
Dylan33
Nobody has ever doubted his skill-set Guru...you need to face it though, the guy is a punk. There's a reason he's only a Titan receiver being injured from being out of the league.Good riddance is what I say. He wouldn't have been out of the league. The teams that passed on him , IMO, did sobecause they didn't want to pay his salary for the remainder of the year. That is a very expensive rent a player. If all 32 teams would have passed on him, it would have been Randy's choice of what team to go to, and that team would have paid him league minimum of $450,000. There will always be a spot in the league for Randy as long as he wants to play. Comparing him to Bonds is much different. The Bonds circus in baseball is not the same as the Randy circus in football.
Mr.Seaguar
Dylan-very good point.the weather in LA is not beautiful this time of year. Its been triple digits lately. Moss is the best WR in the history of the NFL. Even now having lost a step hes still better than Jerry Rice ever was.
FISHINGURU
Moss was the smartest player on this team and a player with the 2nd best skill set, only better player was Peterson. Same guy alot of you wanted to trade away last season because he's fumbles LMMFAO.For you ladies that say the smartest coach in football and best team in football traded him isn't saying anything, thats what they do, they trade their old players and players that want more money no matter what. Look what they did to Branch when he got older and wanted cash, Got rid of Maroney,Vrabel, Cassel, ect.Branch was a Superbowl MVP and Vrabel was a defensive leader, so that arguement is void.If we had a real coach we would of won the Superbowl last year and would be about 6-1. We would of won every game since picking up Moss forsure. The simpletons haven't notice almost every game is lost by coaching, that includes not being prepared and not having the team ready to play, bad challenges, wasting timeouts, stupid penalties, not taking field goals on the road, ect. Every game we lost would of had a different outcome with a smart coach plain and simple.I give Moss a salute for not wanting to play for Child. Only thing that will save this team for the future is to fire his dumb [PoorWordUsage].One clap, One clap!!!
SkunkedAgain
Mr. Seaguar, I respectfully disagree.Randy Moss is a very good one-trick pony and will certainly be in the HOF. The best? Not even close. Moss has amazing hands and was very good at the long ball, but NOTHING else. Not a good blocker. Not a good route runner/possession receiver. No heart when the play didn't revolve around him. That can't be the description of the best WR in NFL history.Jerry Rice was much better than Moss. He was far superior to Moss in every category except maybe the long ball, but he was one of the best at that too. He holds so many records, that he owns the record for the player holding the most records! It wouldn't be hard to come up with a list of WRs that were arguably better than Moss. To do so, cut back on the purple koolaid.
FISHINGURU
LOL, aren't you the same guy that said Herman Moore from Detroit was better then Moss or no? If so that's too funny and you lost all credibility.

greebs
So does anybody think jerry rice at same age would have ever been released? If so do you honesttly think 31 teams would have passed on rice had an unthinkable waive ever happened with him? Moss salary for rest of yer isn't that much if u are a team that needs a receiver to put over the top but with him ya never know what you are going to get. Might be great and he might just not even try.Id say a better comparison than bonds would be dennis rodman or maybe alan iverson.
PierBridge
Tough week for Moss nation most of which who are still stuck back back in 1998! One team wanted him?...LMAO! ... Best part is Chili cutting him will cost Moss MILLIONS of dollars. Instead of the fantasy land notion that Moss had of getting a 3 year 30 million dollar deal he's now the Terrel Owens of the NFL and will be playing for one year contracts the rest of his career!! WTG Chili!

LMITOUT
Things are only getting worse for embattled Minnesota Vikings coach Brad Childress, who appears to be under review by owner Zygi Wilf after a wild week that began with him recklessly cutting one receiver and then reportedly engaging in a heated practice argument with another. That's right. The Star Tribune is reporting that Childress got into a "heated argument" Friday with receiver Percy Harvin, who returned to practice after Wednesday and Thursday because of an ankle injury. Harvin was limping badly during the portion of practice open to reporters, and the Star Tribune reported that Childress questioned Harvin's effort at some point after that. Before the incident came to light, Childress told reporters that Harvin was "very limited" in practice. He's officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals. Harvin made clear during interviews Wednesday that he wasn't happy with the decision to waive Randy Moss. Asked if he was surprised or angry about Moss' departure, Harvin said: "For me, it's a little bit of both." Meanwhile, the Associated Press' Jon Krawczynski reports that fans attending Friday night's NBA game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Atlanta Hawks broke into chants of "Fire Childress!" Uh-oh. Dave S
It can't happen soon enough. If Zygi intends to keep the Vikes here, he's got no choice other than to sign another lease in the BIT (Big Inflatable Toilet). Unless of course if it's possible to somehow sign a lease in TCF Stadium to help generate some funds for the struggling U of M. They could atleast gain some experience/exposure to playing in an outdoor stadium.
LMITOUT
Harvin is a cancer. He should have been cut before Moss.
LMITOUT
Another developer has come forward with intentions of building a retractable roof near the Staples Center in LA. Apparently they figure it'll be ready by the 2015 season and hope to host the 50th anniversary of the Super Bowl in 2016. The first Super Bowl was also played in LA. The original stadium developer is further ahead than this new guy on obtaining approval for construction and such but is still waiting for a team....... Shack
Has the season started? Did we win? Randy Moss? Was he really with us, or was that just a dream? Where not in Kansas anymore Totto. Yeah right! Ziggy and the Vikes sign another lease with the Dome? TCF as an option other than a hold over for a season during construction? Good lord and God help the Vikes. Besides having a team in terminal disarray, we have a fan base that is, eh, we have a long season ahead of us. When are we going to see huge numbers of fans turning their backs? Could an AZ loss be the turning point for most? Worst thing is the Cardnials have a better season record than us.
bucketmouth64
I think if Vikes lose to Cards Zygi will pull the plug on Chilly. He debated on firing him before letting Moss walk. Wilf also spoke to some players to gauge their mood with Chilly. I guess he'll be looking at the teams effort during the game. Kinda makes you want the team to lose. Let's see what Frazier can do as he would be auditioning to be the head coach whether here or elsewhere.
zepman
I think Chilly may be gone before the season ends regardless on how the Vikes W/L record goes from here on out. Ziggy is reportedly not happy with Chilly after the recent events and he has to know the players...especially the "star" players...are having real problems with the head coach now.I think he's going to see how the fans react to the team this Sunday...I wouldn't be suprised to hear that Chilly is out as soon as Sunday night or Monday morning...regardless of the outcome of the Cardinals game.Frazier might be the long term answer here...he might not. Giving him the second half of this year would be a great way to find out though.

Shack
True fans don't turn their backs...they just complain a little louder!!! The sky is not falling Shack..... Correct zep, I think it has fallen already. I am not sure what would constitute anything worse than what has been going on. Maybe a murder? Is that when the sky would fall? Unless you have been a strong Raider's fan and follower from previous years, even the most die hard Vikes fan has to acknowledge First) Last year was the one of the best years ever. Second) This year, with everything combined, is one of the worst seasons on record. When Randy Shaver admits the Vikings are indeed this seasons laughing stock within the entire NFL, starts to make a guy think all ain't right down in Winter Park, die-hard or not. The sky ain't falling, but when does a person know, or in some cases chooses to acknowledge, that they missed the warnings and the sky has fallen? Maybe some like this kind of season and are still considered Vikes fans? I consider myself a die-hard Vikes fan, rarely ever second guessing what is done even during a poor season, but every week it is getting even harder for me to have confidence this season will turn around, much less ever end. This stuff has to be effecting everyone on the team, even if they do not admit it. Again, what next? Chilly being a sick-o scandal or going postal during practice? A Ziggy big deal? The entire team better be on lock down and full alert because anyone or any source gets wind of story involving a current Viking or Vikes staff, it will travel further this season more than any other. FISHINGURU
I can not wait to hear the crowd chant fire Child and see all the fire Child signs everywhere!! I'll never cheer for a team that has Child for a coach, good news is after we fire him he'll never be seen in the NFL again.
