So Brett came into rut out east, made a mock scrape and soiled his hocks and hoped for the best. Really a tough photo to figure out, how far from homes is the camera, north of HWY 10 or south etc. need more details, hopefully you get another shot of it.

I'm still laughing about the favre comment...

I think a deer. I have seen lots of images where the body is skewed because they are standing right on top of the camera. The ear could be angled also. Hair/coat to too smooth.

Maybe it's Favre, the thing is sniffin. I told my wife if that sterger gal came knockin my way I'd skip this rifle season, would need muzzy season to replenish fluids and winter fat reserves. Maybe that's what Brett is doing in that picture ? She is like Poison sings "something to believe in".

If it's a deer or a dog I'm assuming your camera is low to the ground and you wouldn't want to shoot either?

You could cover yourself in honey and lay quietly in the woods with a flashlight to find out. wink

How about this?

What do you have for bait in front of that camera? This could narrow it down. Most likely corn or a salt lick?

I vote bear because a bear will eat anything. A dog could care two scats about corn or a salt lick

No bait here, just two trails crossing.

cougars, and bears ears are not pointed. Cougars also do not have really long necks like that. I can say with great confidence that it is a dog. Bears are not structured like that either, and even at night the camera would show it's black hair...definitely a dog IMO.

I have made up my mind, Thanks for all the great answers(I called Brett Favres people he was not in Ponsford MN on that day). They have been hitting my soybean foodplot. Both pictures where taken on a trail leading there.

I think it was one of these cinnamon bears sneaking in from the side.

Thanks,

Joe
