Take it easy boys! This person you are bashing is a class act and always promotes the sport of bass fishing in a positive way. Yes, he did violate a rule and was DQ'd for it but I do believe that any form of cheating was not his intent. Promoting our sport was. A minor oversite in the rules and lesson learned I'm sure.

Is it really that hard to leave a cell phone in a dry storage compartment?. Yes, he promotes the sport. Yes, he was not using it to gain a competitive advantage. But, you technically aren't privy any tweeter's incoming tweets. So who's to say that someone couldn't use it for incoming "information". You make the call. Personally, "...can't use a cell phone except for emergency purposes..." spells it out pretty clearly.

I've never met Rich but I'd be inclined to guess that tritonman is right on. He has a HSOforum that he uses to share information and promote the sport (and I'm glad he does). He and a colleague conduct interviews with pros which you can listen to online. He's certainly a hellabass fisherman...I wish I could catch them like he does!

That being said, I'm not sure how much bashing was done and it's worth talking about if it helps others take note of the rule. I'll bet that he would agree it was a dumb move to share the info live, especially without knowing for sure that it was within the rules.

I ended up in 57th out of I believe 164? Not to bad for my first state tourny. I was in 37th after day one but only managed to catch 2 fish on the second day. Here is a picture of the 2 fish I brought to the scales though. How did everyone else do?
