Making it comfortable for girls

Recommended Posts

I love to go fishing with my guy, but I run into a few problems he doesn't. Majorly, he can pee over the side of the boat at pretty much any time. I just don't work that way. So, how do you gals survive on a daytrip? I'm a water drinker, but sometimes get out of the boat feeling either dehydrated or running for the nearest restroom or bush. Any ideas?

MS. Boilermaker Your old man knows where to find the answer to your question. It has been answered on here several times.

I like a 6 gallon pail. Put a little lake water in 1st and then do your #1. If its #2 do the same but use biodegradable TP. Or go to shore when doable.

Oh one way to make sure you dont have to go so often is not drink that so called beer your husband does. smile

There's something out there called a Go-Girl that are pretty ingenious but I usually settle with a nice round smallish bucket that fits into one of our storage compartments in the boat. It's portable and it works nicely. If we're in a group of boats though, I have my man go out farther so no one can peep at me. blushcrazygrin

A little bucket is good. Add a poncho for the shy gals, head the boat downwind and turn up the music. Something with rushing water is good.

Having said that, my wife makes me take her to the nearest landing with a port-a-john or else my name is mud..

If its Northlander doing a 2 then I'm putting my my lifejacket and swim to shore and don't worry about me I'll get ride home with an H-E-Double- tooth picks Angle..

When my daughter is with me, it's to shore we go. But then again, I fish out of a canoe. If I have to do this to get her to fish with me, it's a small price to pay to have the company of the greatest fishing companion a guy could ask for (doesn't hurt that she generally outfishes me but eats less fish than me, you do the math).

bottom line is to make the girls cumfortable. i have a five gallon bucket[not that it takes 5 gallons] and i have a toilet seat that fits. i have a oversized poncho rain gear for privacy and have no problems. no. 2 goes into storage in plastic bag until proper storage and no 1 is organic and it goes into the lake. end of story. grin good luck.

Here is a link to a "daytripper toilet" or a groover. It is a converted 50Cal ammo box with a toilet seat that is cut down to fit inside when not in use. Line the box with heavy plastic bag, do your business, remove the bag tie it up and store the seat. works great, have one for hunting, easy to store and beats sitting over a branch.

My rear livewell is designated as my wife and daughter potty. I just make sure to move away from the crowds if there are any.

If you have a good size boat the motor well with a towel around for a cover works as well. Then you can still keep things alive in the live well! grin A little splash from the minnow bucket to rinse and your go to go! wink

I have tried all the products out there that try to let us stand up and pee....however, I think with the exception of the "U go girl" they were all designed by men...the opening is no bigger than a quarter and you still have to drop the front of your pants/shorts to use the item...and then talk yourself into being able to "go" while standing instead of sitting. What has worked best for me is a liter bottle with the top cut off about 1/4 way down, then empty it over the side. guys p over the side, why should we have to save ours sloshing around in some container? Shyness not much of an issue unless male friends are along. Then might as well go to shore.

As far as #2 goes.....not happening in a boat, I don't care what container you have. I can wait.

    • As a recovering machinist, I can appreciate that.  If the spec is 0.001 - 0.0015, then clearly the correct measurement is 0.00125, duh…
    • I just figured that it is easy enough to just get a 3 bank so when the boat is not in use I can keep all 3 batteries charged. I have not bough a charger yet, maybe I will give it some more thought. Edit: After thinking this over, with the size, weight, and heat output of the charger (as well as the cost) I think it makes sense to just buy a 2 bank charger, I have a smaller charger i can use on the starting battery when the boat is sitting at home. Forgive me, for i am a retired engineer and I have to obsess over everything...
    • Congrats on the motor!  I think you’ll like it.   I can’t say much on the charger location but I’ve seen them under the lid in back compartments and under center rod lockers.  160 degrees is more than I expected to hear.   Curious why you’re opting for a 3 bank charger with a 24V trolling motor.  Unless you don’t feel you be running you big motor enough to keep that battery up as well?
    • I did buy an Minnkota Ulterra, thanks for the recommendations. I had a bunch of Cabela"s bucks saved up, which helped. Now i need to get an onboard battery charger. Where do you guys mount these things in your boat? The manufacturer I am looking at {Noco genius) says tht their 3-bank charger will run at 160 degrees, seems like a lot of heat in an enclosed compartment? Thanks for any input on this.
    • You're very lucky a troop of Sea Monkey's didn't carry you away.
    • Wasn't terrible at a state park beach. Antelope island maybe.  I wouldn't recommend it as a beach destination tho.  Figured I was there, I'm getting in it.
    • The water looked and smelled disgusting with hundreds of thousands of birds sh*tting in there.  About as gross as the Salton Sea. When I duck hunted there I didn't even want to touch the water.
    • It's kinda gross with the algae in the summer but I got in it anyway.  Wanted to see the increased bouyancy at work.  You can kinda tuck yourself into a ball and you'll just float with your head above water.  When dry off you look diamond encrusted with the salt.
    • We went to the flats too. I dipped a tire on the rental car onto it just to say I’ve been there, but it was still pretty soft from winter melt. After seeing some moron in a BMW suv get dragged out of the muck I had no intention of repeating his stupidity.
    • I've been out on the flats. It's like being on a different planet
