It's be pretty weird to see a goose walking in an area like that, but I once dropped a large honker that busted cover while I was walking a grove of trees for grouse up by Badger, MN. I think it'd been wounded by someone else and simply fallen into the trees.

Do you have any other pics from the same, or close the same time as the first picture? It really does look a lot like a Canadian Goose walking thru tall grass behind the deer.
