They had a great run for a few years. Shoulda won the 97 WS, they just had a few fire sales and their trades haven't worked out. Hafners really never been the same after getting hurt, weird too, how that works.

the indians have some great players, they just never seem to get the job done.. they have cliff lee, cy young. fausto carmona almost won the cy young the year before.. the have sizemore who is injured, but when healthy he is one of the best, if not best overall center fielders in the MLB. shin soo choo is a really good hitter as well, but he is injured right now as well. things never seem to go their way. hafner used to be a lot better too

I was concerned about last nights game.....after a really emotiomal game/series against the wsux, there is (almost) always a letdown the next day. Things sure didn't go our way last night. Valentia (almost) put the TWIN'S up 2 early with that (foul) HR. Cuddy (almost) drove in 2 with a smash down the 3rd base line(foul) with 2 on. Young (almost)had an extrabase hit with 1 on (great catch by CF er). Young had another (almost) double off the wall in center that LF er knocked into the wall for a single, but Kubel couldn't advance on......there were probably more, but you get the idea. It just wasn't our night, for whatever reason. Always better to have a night off after a big emotional win, to even out.

Wouldn't mind being an Indians fan again tonight. Coming through against our weak pitching staff and taking yet another win after our offense got us back in it...... ITS GETTING OLD BLOWING LEADS AND PLAYING FROM BEHIND EVERY NIGHT!!!!!

Yeah, but if you can't score more than 3 vs. the Tribe pitching, you have nothing to complain about. Nothing like the a 3 time batting champ laying down a bunt with runners on 1st and 2nd with 1 out!!

He had the opportunity to bunt himself on, but blew it. Not a bad call, but poor execution. It also speaks to his current confidence level.

I would agree his confidence at the plate may not be great, but... it was an abosolutely horrible decision at that point in the game. That was Joe (and I am a big fan), not Punto at the plate. He has to at least to try to knock that lead run around, period. I don't care what he says his reasons are, it was a bad decision in that situation for our guy Joe.

Yeah, he may have blown the opportunity, BUT when you are the 3 hitter and try to lay one down just to get on base, I have issue with that ESPECIALLY when Morneau isn't hitting behind you! If he was facing a nasty left or someone he was 0 for 30 against I could maybe understand it, but in last nights situation, it was a very poor decision.

I love Joe Mauer, but if he doesn't have the confidence to swing the bat, move him down in the order until he gets it.

I can tell you that Paul Konerko would never have tried nor would he ever be asked to bunt in ANY situation. As a Pale Hose fan I would love it every time Mauer would try to bunt against us, that would mean less singles, doubles and taters that he always seems to hit against us. Just my two cents but I would say, put down your purse and swing the bat Joe! That is what you do best, that is what you are paid to do and that is what your fans expect. Everybody goes thru doubt periods and slumps, you hit your way out of them, not bunt your way out of them.

The bunt sure caught EVERYBODY by surprise....good or bad play? it depends on "what would have happened". I can tell you an interview I heard back in '91, after the series win.....they were interviewing Kirby. Kirby told Chili Davis he was going to bunt to get on in front of him (on deck). Chili told him.."you aren't goin to bunt daug, he throws that change-up..hit it outa here"......soooooooo Kirby DID, game over. Where was Chili Davis last night? Coulda used some good advice there.

At least we won today quite handily 6-0. We have two pitchers at least. Nice game by Franko.

Can't understate the missed opportunity of taking the series though. Time to clean it up here in the next 2 series.
