A - I'm sticking with my preseason prediction "89 wins and squeaking out another division championship. I'd like to say low 90's for wins, but I think the loss of Nathan will cost a few "should haves" the first couple of months."

B - 325

C - 113

D - .220

E - 10

A- 92-71... tie for first and a WIN in game 163

I'll take the under. 46-29 is pretty tough all things considered. Even though the Twins and Gardenhire have dominated the division in the 2nd half compared to other teams in the division in Gardy's tenor that's pretty tough.

B- .324

Under!

I cant imagine Mauer hitting .360 the 2nd half of the season as banged up as he is and not having the controlled hitters environment that Joe was accustomed to in the Metrodome.

He is Joe Mauer so it is possible but not likely IMO.

C- 119

Under again!

Hopefully the rumors floating around are true and they trade him while his stock is high and we get a decent starter. Thus ending the worst trade in Twins history one in which we gave away 2 All Stars for a one dimensional DH.

D- .079

I'll take the over. I don't expect Cuddy to be 2nd in the league in HR's or carry us on his back offensively to the division title like last years 2nd half. Nor do I see a Twins record for HR's in Sept, American League player of month during the greatest comeback in a Division title race in Twins history and it's highly unlikely Cuddy will be voted the 22nd Most Valuable player in the league out of over 330 players.

E- Should be about 10

Gonna be a rough next couple years when demon is consistently putting up solid numbers and Cuddyer is playing for the Royals.

Could very well be if being a Multi-Millionaire and playing a game you love for a living is Rough going... smile

I don't see the Twins resigning Cuddy as being very realistic for that kind of money. Cuddy' is a good all around ball player but that's a lot of coin with all the other needs we have. So in that sense you actually have a point for once regarding Cuddyer!

I'm all for keeping Delmon "not demon" as a DH if we can't swindle some team out of a good starting pitcher as is being reported in multiple recent local newspaper articles..

Nothing will change last year tho!!!!!!! and thats fine by me... grin

I haven't given up on the season, but I think the TWINS have had a LOT go against them this year.....probably too much to overcome. I like the team.....need a healthy year, a solid set-up guy, stronger closer. The starters will staighten out....they are better than they have shown. The interleague schedule was BRUTALLY against the TWINS this year. Compare WHO we played, against who the Tigers/Wsux played....brutal.

Lets not get too high or too low on this team of ours. The way the started out the year everyone had huge aspirations for the post season. After their admittedly poor performance in July some are ready to give the pennant to the Kitties or Stinky Gym Sox.

Too early to tell what's going to happen. We are in a lot better position record wise than some other years that we won the pennant.

Mauer will get better. Young will keep up his numbers. Cuddy HAS to improve. Two things have to improve, batting 1-3 & 5, and starting pitching. Replace Blackburn with Duensing and see what happens.

Good numbers at the plate but still a duesche in the field.. Delmon would make a great DH. Cuddy is a gamer, there's a good chance he'll finish strong. Let's hope he does for the team's sake.

Young as a DH?? If you are loaded everywhere else I could live with that, but a lot of teams have an outfielder with VERY suspect defensive skills that can hit. I think for once the Twins need to worry less about the defense and stick with him....

I may be a bit optimistic about the Twinks moving forward, BUT their schedule is as easy as it can get in the second half. It is quite a bit easier than the Tigers or Sox. They are WAY overdue for a 10 of 12 or 13 of 15 stretch...

As far as starters go.... I can't understand why they haven't given Duensing a shot yet and the way Blackburn and Slowey have had their struggles, we should already have had 7 guys make a start. If we trade for a guy, that makes it 8 and a spot start here or there down the stretch(which always happens) would put us at around 10. I hope they turn it around and we end up with only 6 or 7 guys making a start the rest of the way, I just don't see it.

I also think Cuddy will be back next year for a MUCH LOWER number then the team option is for. He has some position flexibility and I think he is very well like in the clubhouse and front office. I can see a 3 yr 10 million dollar deal to keep him around... much to SLED's chagrin!!

I think Duensing in the pen has been a HUGE SUCCESS story...hard to replace him there. Starters HAVE to keep the ball IN THE PARK, and need to improve very soon. Manship will be in the rotation, in their(Blackburn) place, if they don't.

I agree about Cuddy staying (less $), and I expect him to have a big improvement in the second half. The last few games he showed signs of breaking out. Seems like his "hot streaks" are when he plays first.....anyone have stats on that?

Young as platoon DH with Thome sounds "as good as it gets" for us....Kubel, Cuddy, and Repko or Revere can fill in defensively in the OF.

I didn't realize the Twin's have an easier schedule in the second half....may have to revise my predictions.

I agree, he has been great out there, but the bottom line is the bull pen does you ZERO good if the starters can't get to the 6th or 7th with a shot at winning.... He is by far our best option to plug into the rotation right now and I think they should do it. It will weaken our pen a bit, but if he gives up quality starts, that I think in my mind there is no doubt he will, it is worth it.
