Winning All These Series Is Nice And All...................

Consistently winning series equals a division win and a run in the playoffs. I'll sacrifice the broom every time to keep this up all year!

Agreed...winning every series of the year would be great....but it won't happen! Let's get a sweep while we can....Royals, Indians, Royals again....these need to be swept because I can GUARANTEE we will not win every series against the Yankees, Tigers, Rays and on and on and on...

I would love a sweep but can't complain much about a pace to win 110 games.

Not complaining....I just don't like the arguement of " I'd love to take 2 out of 3 every series" because it won't happen. All I am saying is if we can get a sweep, then go out and get it. I love the start we are on, and am very excited about the team and what we are capable of this year. All I am saying is this pace WILL NOT continue...so lets sweep these crappy teams when we play them!

It's not like they're not trying win these games.

Also the WORST "crappy" teams in the league win 60-70 games a year.

That means they lose 100. I am not complaining one bit about winning these series, as my original post says, but a sweep would be so nice.

To think realistically the Twins are only a few clutch hits away from having about 4 sweeps already this year! Happened again tonigh against the Tigers. These are the types of games that could frustrate us fans eventually. We clog up the bases but can't get a clutch hit to get guys across the plate. Span led off with a triple one inning and we didn't get him in! Its happened many times already, just thinking back to the Royals series Sunday at home and out there!

We should really be quite happy with winning every series so far and can get another one with a W tomorrow.

PS - No I'm not a pessimist, I love the Twins and just think how good we can be if we get some clutch hits to go along with all the walks and RISP situations we are getting.

Your concern is a valid one. I was screaming at the TV when they didn't push Span across--Hudson, Mauer, and Morneau, and we leave a guy at third? Not OK, especially in a game so tight. Their hitting with RISP, especially with bases loaded, has been deplorable. We can't leave all those RBIs on the base and expect the magic to continue. Just a phase, I think... Our bats haven't even heated up yet. Pivotal point in the season so far? Baker's start tonight and if he can rebound (sure glad Rauch did after his last save attempt).

Does anyone have any idea how many people we've left on base this year vs last year and vs top teams this year? It just seems that we are leaving way more runners stranded this year... We're winning now but eventually leaving men on base will come back to haunt us.

I looked for this stat, but according to one source they don't track this yet. In any case, it is far too many. I thought, and don't kill me for my shaky memory here, that we lead baseball (or at least the AL) in hitting last year with RISP? In any case, we were pretty efficient. I have to believe we are scraping the bottom rung this year, however.

dont worry, we will sweep the tigers

Through the 5th inning, I agreed with you! Man, what a monumental collapse. Those type of losses sting!

Crain, 7.20 ERA

Anyone think he is correctable, or can we ship him away now like I have been begging to do for years?
