Did anyone watch that game today? In the end when Jim Thome hit it deep was Hardy waved by the third base coach to go home? I couldn't see if he was signal home and the announcers didn't say. That wasn't even close.

He was given the go ahead to score. I chalk that loss up to the 3rd base coach. Hardy slowed down before getting to 3rd, once he did that he should've been held. Normally I'm a fan of plowing over the catcher, but this was one time it wouldn't have been a good idea. Hardy is too small and A.J. had too much time with the ball. Of course there's no guarantee we would've won that game, but it sure couldn't have ended worse.

Also, why is mijares still on the team? mad

Mainly because he was/is one of the best left handed relief pitchers in the game.

If we let frustrated fans make irrational decisions based on small samplings we would not have the following players on the team. Cuddyer, Kubel, Crane, mijares, Young and Gardenhire omongst many others.

Thank God they went with Rauch as the closer and didn't tune into my idea of using Mijares, but I have to throw a life preserver as he was lights out last year after June or so. He will come around and be a big part of this bullpen (although he hasn't impressed me so far this year).

As for the "play at the plate" in Chicago, even though Hardy was only halfway between third and home smile ...three things allowed me to sleep that night:

One, that was a PERFECT throw to the cutoff man and an even better one to the catcher. Had either been offline just a bit, the play would have been much closer. Two, we were going against Jenks who has shut us down on a very consistent basis over the years, and sometimes you just have to take a chance when others chances may not come. Three, Hardy was never committed to coming home (you can see he slows down before third base), and he is not a top flight speed guy to begin with--he hits the wall rounding third and just doesn't have the gas in the tank to barrel home. Put Punto in that position and he would have came home full steam whether waived around or not...say what you will about his offense, the man flat out runs bases harder than anyone in MLB (how many other guys slide headfirst into first base?). Tough loss, but 2 of 3 in Chicago, and 5 and 2 for a team that doesn't fare well on the road, and 6 and 2 overall, tastes pretty darn good! Now let's finish the sweep of those other Sox at home!

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
