TR21HP
Has anybody checked out the Legend Bass Boats at the show yet? I've talked to a few people down south and they can't say enough good things about them.Supposed to have the best fit and finish, ride is better than a Champion - says a lot, and the customer service is equal to Bass Cat -which really says a lot. Plus they are being sold locally in Centerville.
TonkaBass
They look really nice, but I couldn't say anything until I was in one for a day... I will be looking at the one down there today. I do love the fade they put into the gelcoat.
Cecil
If all of that is true, they would be great! But I find it very hard to believe ALL of that and still be a pretty cheap boat.
TR21HP
Nothing cheap about it Cecil, the 21 footer with a 250 will run 48-50K - no different than a comparable Ranger, Skeeter, Triton or Bass Cat I guess.
olski
I might be a little bias but from what I am hearing they are what they say they are. I have the boat that was the "mold" for the Legends and wouldn't trade it for any boat I have been in so far. This is actually my 2nd one and the next one I get will probably be a Legend. I do have to say I have a hard time calling a boat just shy of 50k cheap.
olski
TR21 must have hit submit before I did. Not trying to harp on price.HAHA
Cecil
I must of looked at a different boat at the St Paul show. I thought they were much cheaper. I stand corrected.

Cecil
Just a tad!!! Im just glad I really can't get out anywhere. River too high and lakes not quite there yet. If the water was ready and I didn't get out, that would be much worse...
Sproguy
I took a look at it last night and had a few thoughts. I thought it looked very sharp and had a really nice finish to it. One thing I couldn't get my head around was the "day box" on the front deck. Several brands of boats have this feature and I like the one I have on my Cat but Legend put theirs on the front deck right above the rod straps on the drivers side. Well call me crazy but I don't want to have to move my rods every time I want to open that lid. Those that haven't seen it, don't judge it until you see it. Maybe I'm crazy, but I usually have 4 to 5 rods on the deck and at least half are going to be laying on top of that lid. Just seems like a dumb location. Overall I left impressed with the boat and have heard very good things but the day box left me kind of confused.Lastly kind of sick world we live in when 50K is cheap! TR21HP
Dietz, I hear ya, believe me I hear ya. By the way, I'll be there Saturday morning as the doors open, I'll make sure I look you up - my wife needs a new Stradic or Symetre and we will drop by the Shimano booth - that is if I can pull myself from that Yammie SHO! bassNspear
i think they look sharp, but from guys that i have talked to, they dont ride like other boats. Thats why you dont see them all over the tour, becuase of there ride!
CAMAN
i think they look sharp, but from guys that i have talked to, they dont ride like other boats. Thats why you dont see them all over the tour, becuase of there ride! I could see that if a majority of the guys on the tour weren't made up of sponsorships. Its hard to believe just because of their ride someone would pass up a sponsorship opportunity for them. I think it has more to do with where they are putting their advertising dollars than anything. I haven't specifically looked for them but I can't remember ever seeing a pro with Legend as a sponsor, atleast a big named one.
Cecil
I think the biggest name is Chris Lane. I know Gary Yamamoto and Pam Martin-Wells run them too.
TR21HP
Kim Bain Moore drives one as well and is supposed to be at the show.I don't believe the quality of the boat has anything to do with the fisherman as well.Example, the best pro to ever fish drives a Nitro. Central Bassman
Legend's are great looking bass boats, I think there rims on the trailers are what makes them look as good as they do. I sat in one at the first boat show this year, i just don't think they have the same front deck space as some other bass boats, just seems a lot more narrow up front. Might just be me but something to look at.I don't believe the quality of the boat has anything to do with the fisherman as well.Example, the best pro to ever fish drives a Nitro. You better get used to seeing new Nitro running around with Bass Pro up here now. I don't blame anyone for going and buying one, you can be out the door for under $35,000 for a new Z8 (20') with a 200 Merc Pro XS. With Ranger being almost 60K why wouldn't a guy look at a Nitro, Easier on the wallet and they have came a long long long long long long way from the 900 series. river rat316
z7 out the door with a 150 for 23 and change sounds even better to me
TR21HP
River rat,A Triton 18SE with a 150 for 22K sounds even better. Nitro is making some other boat makers rethink some of their prices and products they are offering and I hope it leads to lower pricing on some of them because right now, in this economy, it doesn't make sense. Superduty
The advertised prices look great BUT...Add the options most guys would want and it's hard to get under $30k. You will need to upgrade bow and console sonar/gps, trolling motor for sure, maybe add trailer brakes, etc. It adds up fast!
river rat316
Believe me when you have fished out of the boat I have for the last season and 1/2 anything looks good right now, and yes you might want to upgrade electronics, and I went through everything I would "need" to upgrade on the build sheet and was still well under 30g I think I was right around 27 and that had side imaging and a upgraded tm, plus rod organizers.I agree with you guys though their is some pretty good boats in the low 20 ranges right now, not everyone wants or needs the 200+hp 19+' boats, Stratos, Triton, Nitro, and even Basscat have good boats under 25 right now. But I still think bang for the buck lands under Nitro z7, 8' rod lockers, good storage and a base package that is still very fishable for the average weekend Warrior/ club fisherman
sicheneder
i don't like the back compartments open towards the motor. it makes it easy while rigging on land, but anything is easier that way. i would rather have it open towards the bow.
