Wimbie
If I remember right, Favre hasn't been to a traing camp for a few years now.

I wasnt even refering to the $$, I was reffering to what or who we would have to give up to trade for him.
rayguy
The final four teams from this past season can only sign a free agent if they lose one. And then they can only offer whatever there lost player signs for. So don't dream to large guys cause it is not going to happen.

There wont be much for FA this year. But you will see a fare amount of players getting cut. Teams wont be stuck with the salaries, due to no CBA. Look for teams correcting some over priced contracts this year.
Scott K
Asomugha isnt a free agent, so it wouldnt fall in that catagory. It would have to be a full trade, and we would have to give up way too much, and it would never happen.
Born2Fish
I think Oakland owes us one from the Randy Moss trade. How about Ben Leber and a 4th round draft pick for Asomugha? Sounds pretty fair!!

bassNspear
i think he will be back. I think he has a point to prove. Maybe im wrong, but the viks have to have a backup plan incase he dont. Cant rely on tjack
bucketmouth64
Just heard on espn Favre needs ankle surgery if he wants to play. I wonder if he knew this at seasons end. Kind of late to decide to get the surgery when he could have been rehabbing all this time. Kinda makes you wonder if the viking brass should have taken a qb in the draft(not the qb/wr they picked). Hindsight is 20/20. He will even be more fragile if he plays this season. That will put pressure on the o-line. Maybe they are eyeing next years class or waiting to see who gets released such as a Jamarcus Russell (not saying we should get him). paceman
Yeah I just read the same thing on ESPN. That is kind of a bummer. I don't think he will be back. Having ankle surgery now to play again just so he can get beat up again is probably not a wise move. The vikes open up in New Orleans. That would be a tough game on good ankles. greebs
at least this should force his hand so the team can know once and for all if he's going to be back or not instead of waiting on his timeline. If he has surgery, it's obvious he's coming back and if not, then it would seem to be a case of it being over and the team can plan accordingly. CJH
To count on a 40+ year old QB that needs surgery and isn't sure he wants to play..........they must be happy with T-Jack!!!
PierBridge
There's plenty of time to recover from ankle surgery.

harvey lee
Fine with me if he comes back a few days before the season starts. They did just fine with Farve starting way late last season.I also believe the Vikes know what Brett's plans are but its not public to anyone else.Farve is a drama queen and also a great QB. colonel42
"Seniority" guys that is what it is called. My guess is the Viking's owners and coaches already know what he is doing. Seens to me if there was even a thought of him not playing they would have the smarts to draft or pick up another out of free agency. we can only pray that T-Jack is a bystander once again. Fish Head
He'll be there mid-August. He'll play in the last 2 pre-season games and he'll be good to go.
