CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chris Henry suffered serious injuries after falling out of the back of a pickup truck during a domestic dispute with his fiancee, police said Wednesday.

Henry was found in the road in south Charlotte “apparently suffering life-threatening injuries,” according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police. Henry was transported to Carolinas Medical Center, the local trauma unit, but spokesman Scott White said he was not listed in hospital records and had no other information.

Police spokesman Robert Fey said officers were stationed near the 26-year-old Henry’s hospital room. He had no information Henry’s condition, but said he was alive.

If you read the full story it isn't the sort of thing that happens to anyone. Not all of us jump in the bed of a pickup as our fiancee is speeding away only to fall out later...

Chris Henry has passed away. I for one am sad. You can say what you want about him but have some resepct for the man.

I don't mean to minimize a young man's death, its always tragic but I don't need to have any respect for a career criminal who died while engaged in a domestic dispute either and that's all he was. Lets not make a hero out of a career lowlife thug.

While I can't disagree with anything you wrote, given your sig line though, it's a bit hypocritical. By most accounts the kid had taken steps to turn around a life full of bad choices. Hopefully, he received the same mercy from his Maker that you reference.

Seems to be one of those classic cases of a person who dies similar to the way he lived; reckless and violent. Sad to see a young person go but not overly surprising.

I never said to vilify the guy nor did I say I was judging him, I just said we shouldn't make him out to be a hero. I don't see anything un-christain about that and I don't know where you are coming from. If his life was so turned around, he wouldn't have died during a domestic disturbance crime. That's just a fact.
