Cities 97 Sampler

Anybody stand in line for this one this morning. I have been a bit disapointed in the last 1 or 2. .but this one seems decent. Then again, I only listened to what they had on their web page..

nnnnooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!! every year this thing comes out i have to listen to it at work over and over for almost a month. it probably isnt that bad, and music is certainly is subjective but do think it gets unjustified hype. especially the last few years. some days, while the musical elite raves about it, i want to stick a pencil in my ear.

I got in line at five this morning. Not everyone in line got their cd so some walked away a little bummed. My wife on the other hand was quite pleased. Time for a nap.

I walked into a Target a few years ago and they had a whole rack of them with no one really buying them? It was probably 4pm when I saw them.

I didn’t even realize it was the Sampler until I actually looked at it. I bought one just because they were there. Obviously things must be quite different now

My friend had about 15 Samplers, so I copied my favorite songs and made my own 'Best Of' cd. That's the ticket, otherwise I only like about 1/3 of the songs.

I drove by the target by my house and there were people lined up at 7:20 this morning, including a mom with her 4 year old daughter sleeping on her shoulder as she was standing there gabbing with her fellow North Face friends. I couldn't believe she was going to stand out there with her daughter until they opened at 9.......

They will not be on itunes. This is a live acoustic cd and only so many copies can be made. All money raised goes to charity.

The only way of getting it now is by burning it from a buddy or going on HSO-Classifieds or HSO-Classifieds and paying 2x or more than what it cost at Target. Next year I'm going to get in line very early, get two of them and turn a nice little profit.

The lady in the office next to me listens to Cities97 EVERY DAY....the station has a variety in genres, but as far as musical variety it certainly does not. I don't need to hear Maroon 5, U2 and Sarah McLaughlin twice a day......5 days a week.

The sampler's have lacked in musical quality the past few years and they seem to just be trying to fit a mold that doesn't exist anymore.

I do not listen to them much anymore - kind of KQ lite as far as the music goes..
