To the hunters that popped my tire

Recommended Posts

I just want to say thanks to the fine "sportsman" that popped my tire. I went pheasant hunting for a couple hours near Maple lake this afternoon with a friend of mine that lives up that way. He has been bow hunting a large wma and told me to come up today because he has seen a few birds back in an area and has not seen any deer hunters out there the last couple days. We pulled along a road and walked back into a nice area that is quite a wet hike to get back into. About an hour later we were heading along the slough back twoards the car and saw a couple deer hunters way across the slough. We decided to come out farther down the road to not interupt them but they saw us as well and we watched them leave. I know that they knew we were in there because they could see the car and had to have heard us shoot a couple times. We got out to the road and the one truck sped off imediately and the other started heading down the road twoards us. We talked to them for a minuite but they were kind of nervous and something just did not seem right. they took off and we walked over to the car. We cased our guns and put them away and were getting in the car when I noticed My front tire was flat. Upon inspecting it they clearly pulled the valve stem out and put the cap back on about halfway and it was still leaking. Now I am sure that we ruined their plans to deer hunt back in there but they were not there yesterday or today when we went in and they dont own the land anymore than the rest of us do. I just wanted to say f you to theese guys for ruining my evening, my tire and my trust of fellow sportsman who I normally trust as good folks.

Yeah its sad and there is littlee doubt what happened with the valve stem all scratched up inside. I just cant figure out why they would do this other than they are probobly locals that feel we are intruding on they're spot.I am hoping my warranty at costco where i spent 600 bucks on a set of michelins last fall will cover this. If they would have been in there when we pulled up i would NEVER walk in on them due to simple courtesy.

All I am able to bowhunt is public land, and I do the same as yourself. If someone is parked in a lot or off the raod, I will just move on to find my own spot. Most people will do this also. I guess thats about all you can do, its just bad luck running into people like this. Good luck.

I hope that they feel better to go out of there way to ruin a nice night for someone else. I hope on the way home. They got 2 flats on there truck. lol But to have the guts to do that unheard of I would never in my life never think of doing that. What would had happen if you had a acciedent and it was a life endangering injury and you needed to get out of there fast but couldn't.

Some people who call them selfs sportsmen, don;t know the meaning of the word sportsmen. They only think of them selves. If anything happens they don;t like ,they take there anger out on a inaminate object that cant hurt them, They were probley brought up on the wrong side of the tracks.

Some people are just plain rude. I was hunting a WMA our near Brownton/Glencoe a couple of years back during the deer season. It was a large WMA with access at more than one point. I was working the dog, and harvested one rooster already when I jumped a decent buck out of the cattails (scared me and the dog half to death as it almost ran me over) A few minutes later, I here one solo shot, and see a guy in a stand on the far side of the WMA doing the ole fist pump. Sure enough, I kicked up that bedded down deer right to him on his stand which was on bordering private property.

I can't wait until these types crawl back under their rocks for another year. Wait, they're Ice Fisher***** too? Oh yeah the ones who set up 3 feet from you cuz you're on their spot.

Is it time we digress to the old West style of law and justice? Gentleman were Gentleman and those who weren't were Dead.

After reading all this bad stuff in the forums one sure take it as giving us a bad name. I wish you didn't have to endure this act of stupidity and aggression. Karma will eventually catch up to them sooner or later.

On the other hand there are more hunters out there that do good for the sport and the surrounding communities by far than those that are reported as doing bad things its just those dont get reported as much for some reason.. So I dont tend to lump them no goods with the average hunter or sportsman.

Maybe if we hear more reports of the good being done than the negative one wont get the impression of a bad name.

We had this happen to us near indian land. While duck hunting... It was a public access provided by our MN DNR but for some reason they think its "theirs" anyway we got done hunting and went back to the landing to find BOTH of our trailer tires flat... Needless to say we only had a one spare...

Crazyeyes, Which Costco did you get them at? I am a manager at the Maplewood building. I am there today from 1-10, bring it in and I will have my guys or I will put in a new valve stem for you. Any of the other building should do it also.

Obviously these guys are not too smart. If you are willing to mess with someones property where you KNOW they have a gun on them, you con't be too bright. Very frustrating to hear this. I hope you at least had good luck hunting!

Why would having a gun matter?

You cannot legally use a gun/deadly force to defend property in MN.

Fortuneately costco covered my tire. The tech said it was pulled with a pliers. But i'm back on the road again. I spent the last couple days with 3 buddies pheasant hunting and chasing combines! We shot 14 in 2 days and my legs are toast today!!
