p-line vs gamma

I have used both, trying to find 2#gamma and having no luck. Are they comparable in anyones opinion?

You can purchase directly from Gamma. I like Gamma much better than P Line, but that's my opinion.

I also use Gamma. I have run P line and its good too but it seems the strength ratio is better with Gamma.

both lines are very good.. but I also give the nod and spool up with the gamma. Check Thorne Brothers, I know they have had it in the past.

The Gamma Polar Ice line is by far the best special purpose ice mono I have ever used.

I'm primarily a superbraid guy for walleye, catfish, and pike, but for perch and crappies, Gama Polar Ice is my choice.

Does anybody know if GM is carrying Gamma Polar Ice again this year?

I was at the Lakeville store this past weekend and they didn't have any, but it was obvious they didn't have all of their stuff in yet.

Yes Gamma Polar Ice is still rolling very strong, and they even expanded the line in 2009/2010. If they do not have it in, request it.

I've tried Gamma in the past, it wasn't the polar ice but I thought it was terrible, as soon as you released the bail it spring off the spool. P-line for me.

I use Gamma and P-Line and like them both. I use P-Line on only a few reels because I use it in fewer situation, and I have Gamma on a lot more reels (ice and open water).

Gander Eden Prairie has #1 Gamma but didn't see any other test out.

The GM in Forest Lake doesn't have any of the Gamma Ice stuff out yet. Still waiting on that and the Jason Mitchell rods to get there.

I like Gamma for openwater, but have not tried their ice line cause it is rediculously hard to find. If they are serious about getting into the hardwarter market, I don't understand why they have not gotton it into more stores. This year have not seen it at GM, FF, Joes, various local bait shops, etc. We'll see at TB's when I get their or their grand opening.

Don't assume retailers always know what you want. Costumer feedback is critical to stock what is in demand and not what is just in great supply....and cheap.

NC- its not the maufacts fault its not in the stores.. They want to be in all stores, its what the dealers order.. Like Ed says.. if its requested, companies will bring it in.

i was trying to get ice gamma at various GM's,FF's, baitshops,ect, for two years now.....some of them had normal open water gamma but nadda for ice.

Yeah, Ive been using it the past two seasons and its a trip trying to find the stuff. Two years ago had to get it up in Rogers in cabelas, last year drove to eden prairie GM.

Can anyone confirm a store that has a good amount? I was told Thorne Bros several times each year but they have never carried it...

I used to get my Gamma from Red Rock Wilderness Store in Ely, who I believe are sponsors here. Their HSOforum didn't have any for sale this year.....

I went out to Gamma's HSOforum and it says it is carried by GM in my area (Burnsville). I am pretty sure I got mine at the GM in Eden Prairie last year.

i can tell you it definitely isn't at the GM in lakeville...i was just there last night and last year when i asked for it the guy said they didn't carry it because the cajun red line is so much better lol

Yeah, I stopped by the GM in Lakeville and the guy said they aren't carrying it. He said he checked the planner for that section and it wasn't included. That's a real bummer

Will they have a booth at the ice show that we can by Gamma ice line from? IF they do, then problem solved for me - just buy enough for the season.

FYI ... I also see that you can order the stuff online from their HSOforum. That may also be the ticket since finding it in stores has been a challenge.
