fishin58
I just rewatched it several times, nfl dot com under the steelr Defense get offensive. About 1:20 in. It is not a good throw at all.
bassNspear
viks did the same thing that chargers did. But there back up running back in at the gold line, and didnt score. thats horrible. Best two backs in the game, and you dont give them the ball, give me a break!

Thanks for the location of that. I'm still going to stick with my rating of how difficult it would have been to catch. It's not a good throw, but it hit him in the hands and he took his eyes off it. It's still a catchable ball, and if he keeps his eyes on it I think he catches it. Final breakdown is Taylor's and it's his job to catch a reachable ball with the game on the line. JBMasterAngler
Weren't the vikes a slight favorite to win that game? Perhaps the fix was in?
Nick Kuhn
Well the only thing I am satisfied is when the Ref gets POUNDED!! HAHAHAHAHAAHH The "tripping" call that negated the TD was on Dugan. It was Dugan that steamrolled the ref. Coincidence? I think not. Dugan gets the 'ole atta boy from me.That said Taylor has to know the situation. Even if he doesn't catch it he needs to make sure no one else can either. Ball security is why he was in and not Peterson. He should have just knocked it down. james_walleye
I lived by the rule, touch it catch it. But, out of scale of 1-10 of catchability (sp) I would give it a 2. Only thing worse would have been if it bounced. What would you rate the throw? IN ALL HONESTY!! Give me a break lol, that play is on Taylor. Only you could find more blame on Favre on that play than on Taylor. The only surprise with your stance is you havent said that junkson would have made a better throw. FISHINGURU
lol fishin58 you're good humor...so in your book there isn't a much harder catch to make then that one since you gave it a 2 and 1 would be the hardest lmmfao.i didn't know junkson had a twin he's playin for the skins!! koonie
Not the greatest pass but certainly should have been caught. No question. Troy Williamson would probably have caught that pass. I would still rather see AP in there in those situations no matter how good CT is as a third down back.
Jim Uran
Poor Taylor gets the kick in the butt on that one, it was a decent enought throw, he just missed it. Fishin is still a Favre hater, if he has to watch a replay several times to determine if it's a bad throw or not, it couldn't have been that bad. A little high yes, but Taylor, a darn good receiving RB makes that catch 99 out of 100.
fishin58
See you guys are still wrapped up in your hatred for TJ, I never said one word about him and some how he gets drug into a horrible throw by Bert....You really dont think Bert was kicking himself after the play, "I can't believe I could not hit a guy 5 yards away right in the numbers"You worshippers must have never thrown a pass in your life, I know if I threw a pass like that I would feel horrible. Jim Uran
I threw plenty of passes, it wasn't that bad of a pass. It was catchable, it if goes through your hands and even hit's one of your hands it's catchable. It's easy to make the connection between your statement and your undevotional love for Tjack. Why don't you just come out and say it, my guy (Tjack) would have made that throw....

I wonder how many average 40yr old Americans could throw that pass, or better yet, just bend over to tie their cleats.I think you are confusing admiration and appreciation with worship. You would not be kicking yourself after that pass????? No I wouldn't be, it hit him in the hands, most screen passes in the league that are thrown don't hit the RB in the #'s because you are throwing over or around an oncoming defender. I've played enough ball and watched more than enough to know that. Give it a rest buddy. We know you love Tjack, it's ok. There is help out there somewhere!! fishin58
It is still to tough for any of you haters to man up and admit TJ is the #2 and something as little as pinning a little blame on the holy one are still to tough for some of you to man up to. Jim Uran
HAHA....Yep he's #2 I've admitted it. That doesn't change what YOU are saying. I think you have trouble admitting he is #2.
fishin58
Congratulations Leech!!!! This is the scenario that TJ was supposed to be drafted into, sit behind a Veteran QB for 3 years and learn from him. Instead B Johnson was horrid and Tj gets thrown out onto the field way to early and learned on the fly. Tj steadily improved and was set to have a break-out year this year. But with Bert coming in, he is getting the chance to sit back and learn. Like I predicted before Bert will be injured by week 12 and TJ will be inserted and lead us on the playoff run. AWH
Any competitive athlete (and we know Favre is one of these) that doesn't make a perfect pass (run, catch, block, etc.) and it turns out bad is going to be kicking themselves for not making a better play. No doubt Chester and Favre are both wishing they could have that play back and do it differently/better.I agree that this play was more on Chester than Favre. But if we give Brett a completely free pass on every mistake like this we're going to start sounding like many Packer fans of the past 18 years. No one (I hope) expected Favre to come in and be perfect. But I think he's exceeded almost everyone's expectations up to this point. Hopefully he can stay healthy and keep it going.Aaron

bassNspear
hes learning, but not goign to come up to anything. Chilly will figure somethign out to screw that up as well. give the ball to AP, and we dont have to worry about it! How can you not do that on the goal line to the best back in the nfl
Swimbait2009
After watching a lot of the replays on ESPN, I have a defense for not running the ball. I think they should have run in there, but here goes:Pittsburgh's safeties were playing very aggressively, and attacking the line of scrimmage in the red zone. At that point, the back of the endzone should be open and Favre had Rice open, but threw the ball a little behind him and bounced it off the cross bar of the goal posts. I still think that AP has a better chance of beating an aggressive saftey than a pass at that point, but I think that would be Chili's defense to why they didn't run all three downs there. The glaring hole is the play calling on first downs throughout the game. Only 1/3 of the first downs brought a running play. Are you kidding me? Are we really that intimidated by an 8-man box with the most dynamic back/offensive player in the league? Isn't that the defensive look that AP actually has the most success against?
Mudcutter
The passes that #4 threw on some of the 3rd down conv were sick. Hitting a bullseye. Throwing behind the CB's rear end on one and hittin Harvin or Rice was sick. Favre is so much better than just about anybody else (Brees,Manning etc) but TJ??[PoorWordUsage] near won us the game. The dude has allready given the VIkes at least 1 and more likely 2 wins more than TJ would have.

Its because no one here is stupid. Its not us worshiping Favre and giving him a free pass, its you throwing all the blame on him because hes not your little buddy junkson. If junkson throws the same pass you would be all over Taylor for not catching the ball. You know it, we all know it. Only you could turn us putting more blame on Taylor rather than Favre into "being wrapped up in hatred for TJ". Horrible throw by bert....lol
