Man, what a game grin !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would love it to be a QB (TJ) that came out of the blue, but victory is a "good thing"

Still? For Green Bay fans it would be like looking at a former girl friend I guess grin

But hey, MN is the "new guy" in-charge and we can benefit from Wis.'s loss! wink

Go Vikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Burn baby burn #4 grin

To make this even better all that is needed is a Moss to come back.

Yes grin

Is TJ better than Favre? Heck no. Will he ever be better than Favre? I do not know if anyone can. I am hoping after this season TJ comes close in the seasons to come and as a Viking wink .

I always have and will respect Favre as one of the best QB's to play in the NFL (if not the best). I am extremely glad he is here and he is what we need.

At the same time I have lived the past 16 years with the MN/Green Bay rivalry thing. Who was at the helm of the that Rivalry? Favre wink When the USA Hockey team beet the Soviet Union back in the 80' Olympics, would "the win" had been any different if Boris Mikhailov had some how switched over to the US that year, leading the US to victory? grin

But!!! The way I view Favre "now" is not because I want to win, it is because of who "he" is as an NFL QB. Sounds kind of weird and my GB buddies just rip me up for "loving" Favre now since he is a Vike. grin Plus! I feel he honestly wanted to play for MN and we know it was not just about money or anthing (like he needs any more). That is why I (and many others) knew he would be on the Vikings (baring any injury or contractual issues). Maybe all those past seasons he really wanted to be a Vikings and has come out of the closet wink Double plus! Watching him interact on the side lines with other players shows me he is not this Green/Gold Darkness from across the border anymore.

Sure I would love to have all this going on with a "fresh" prospect, because you know when we win the Super Bowl grin this year, things will be said (or spoken in the heat of a sports talk with your friends from Wis.) in the future? "IT TOOK A GREEN BAY CARRIER RAISED QB TO WIN IT" laugh I just know this is going to be said.

But what the eh? Let's go to the Super Bowl and win.

Maybe I am reading into this way too much grin, but I think every Vike's fan has had this cross their minds at one point this season. I think they should "stop" showing Favre's past Green Bay high lights (regular season and Superbowl) during game time wink It is like being out on the fourth date/dinner with a gorgeous women, only to have the waiter every time he comes to the table whip out pictures of her with her rich x-boyfriend in Hawaii. Just ruins the moment grin If you really like here, you let it slide, but it just sticks in the back of your head laugh

Go Vikes!!!!

Well put shackbass, I feel he is here and I may as well enjoy watching him play and set aside that * that he his is a packer.

I do have to say he is showing a lot of class with his interviews especially last night with Defoya trying to pin the revenge factor on him. That was not cool on Defoyas part but I guess controversy sells.

I cant say I wont have a few remarks when a bad game arrives its only natural. grin

I would agree with the "ALOT OF CLASS" we all know that he wants to just blow up and tell people what he really feels, but i dont think he will do that becuase of what has happened in the last few weeks and months!

I have always been a farve fan, and im glad he is on our side now as well!

Thanks for puting into words how I feel. sucks that MN will no doubt have to ride on the shirt tails of Wis but its great to finally have a QB that can play at the level as the rest of the MN team.

I don't see it as riding the coattails of ATL, WI or NY. Mississipi maybe, but not WI. WI traded him away to the Jets. Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy didn't want him anymore. They believe he was washed up. GB fans can thank him for trading him away. It was THEIR decision to do so.

He was drafted by Atlanta so maybe WI was riding the coattails of Atlanta. laugh

Ok, Ok......I was going to stay out of ALL Packer vs. Vikings topics this year, but that statement is WAY wrong. Favre RETIRED, again he RETIRED, he sat in front of millions of people, cried, wept, sobbed and said he was done. Packers fans, Ted Thompson, Mike McCarthy and the team had been enduring this for years. Finally the Packers had an answer and the answer was Rodgers. Two months later, the Packers called Favre to make sure he was ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE that he was good being retired and he said yes.......Welcome to the captains chair Mr. Rodgers!!!! The team, fans, management and the country had given Favre his farewell and were moving on without him........

All of a sudden he wants to come back...fine, compete for your job is what he's told, but that is not good enough...............so Ted Thompson finds a way to bury him deep in the AFC and far away from the NFC north, so everybody thought..........

No way the Jets are going to release him or trade him for fears of giving up additional draft picks, so he retires AGAIN!!!!!!!!.....................

The game on Monday night was won by the VIKING defense and lost by the GREEN BAY O-line.......I'm sure it felt good for Favre to beat Ted, Mike and the fans that have turned on him (I know it sucked losing to him), but he still has to come to Green Bay.

Are you riding his coat tails? IMO, yes......... You have the same team you did last year with Tjack......... there's 3 tough games coming up and if you all remember he threw 6 td's last year against the Cardinals in week 4 and was sitting with 12 td's and 4 int's.......he ended with 22 TD's and 22 INT's......

In my opinion, they should sit Favre and Peterson this week. Give em both a break. Give Tjax some work, maybe increase his trade value, or prepare him for the future. Either way, save Favre's arm and let his ankle/knee heal a little. They should be able to handle St.louis with a B squad.

At the very least, go balls out, and try to run up the score in the first half, so you can sit them 2nd half.

They have Baltimore and Pittsburg the next 2 weeks after that. It'd be nice to have them both in peak condition. Hell, I might even give Favre the Pittsburg game off. It's on the road, they blitz alot, it's an AFC game so it doesn't play into the tiebreakers as much, and would be valuable experience for Tjax. There's no reason you can't platoon it a little bit.

Rick, I would agree if we were talking 3, 4, 5 or even 6 seasons. We are talking 16 years though grin

To even be involved in the NFL a QB has to have some potential. If I remember correctly, Favre did not even play much with Atlanta because of a car accident. I know he had a banner debut season with GB in 1992, but so did Coldpepper with the Vikes in 2000 grin

Brett Favre is purely a product of Mike Holmgren and The Green Bay Packers Organization (IMO). Would Favre have been the QB he is today if he never hooked up with Holmgren and GB? Who knows. All I know is he did, played great, was part of the Green and Yellow over the border darkness that society, my family, friends taught me to dislike while growing up grin

Now he is a Viking grin

I am cool with it. smile

Even when articles like this:

Quote:
Is Brett Favre sports' biggest turncoat?

By Matthew Iles

Special to Page 2

When American colonists declared independence and flipped the bird to the British crown, it was an act of righteous defiance that gave birth to the greatest nation on Earth.

But when Benedict Arnold acted on his beliefs and switched sides in the heat of battle, he was remembered as a cowardly turncoat and the king of all backstabbers.

History is always kinder to the victor. The same is true today, perhaps more so considering the stakes. Sure, the Revolutionary War was a big deal, but this is the Vikings against the Packers, and Brett Favre, once Green Bay's favorite son, now prepares to enact his former team's demise.

But is Favre's sin of sedition the worst ever in sports?

Court is in session, as Page 2 passes judgment on the most treasonous sports figures ever.

Without further ado, we present the top 10 turncoats in sports:

gnb.gifmin.gifNo. 2 Defendant: Brett Favre

In 16 seasons with Green Bay, Favre returned the franchise to its legendary status of the Lombardi era. Favre holds seemingly every passing record on the books, including career interceptions. He's won three MVP awards and Super Bowl XXXI. He's as Hall of Fame-certified as an active player can get. Consider this: In just his 30s alone, Favre has thrown for 251 touchdowns and 37,965 yards, which would rank 13th and 14th on the career lists, respectively.

The case: Favre has also been indicted on charges of waffling and crocodile tears. Despite retiring not once but twice from the NFL, he has continued to change his mind in the interest of another Super Bowl ring and another endorsement. This time, though, he came back as a Viking. It's a development that has turned the cosmos upside down -- well, at least the upper Midwest -- and inspired predictable and unpredictable responses from fans.

The ruling:

Hung jury, until the conclusion of Monday night's game. A win, and Green Bay might never fully recover from its broken heart. A loss, and the Packers vindicate their handling of the first Favre unretirement in 2007. A tie, and … can you imagine? All this tension and hype carried over to the Nov. 1 game in Lambeau Field as the most-watched, highest-stakes skins match ever. The universe might literally rip apart.

headline ESPN's NFL page the day of the MN & GB game, I may have a quick afterthought. I do agree with Rick on the "Who cares, we are winning" grin Time heals all wounds.

I guess for me, it does comes down to "just" winning. grin I think MN has "just" gone past the point where the topic of coattails or turncoats does and should not mean squat. wink As far as our Super Bowl record goes grin

Go Vikes!!!!!!!

Favre will always be known as a Packer, he will eventually retire a Packer. Do I feel the Viking's are winning because we have the Packers QB? NO! GB left him behind, and couldn't keep him happy enough to want to play another season in GB, so it is not their QB, they could have kept him if they wanted to.

Mind you I don't like the idea of him being here, but he is doing well, and I will take the wins he is bringing. So I will deal with it.

I hear ya 4WE grin No one can actually blame you for not being happy Favre is with the Vikes now. Unless you personally know they guy, what can make a Vike's fan feel this way about Favre? 16 years of him on GB grin Then bing, bam, boom, he is a Viking?

Lets face it grin

Just a couple seasons back, if anyone, anywhere said Favre would be starting for the Vikes in 2009, you have branded a Fruit-Loop grin "Never would happen" "There is NO WAY" would have been said from either side of the border.

That is what really makes me like and accept Favre playing with the Vikes now (short of the fact his is an awsome QB). He must really dislike Green Bay to even think of doing this. wink

I still think what drove Favre to even talk with the Vikings organization was a deep anger/dislike he had for Green Bay (well we know what has been leaked). Also for the fact he wanted to do it, cause no one else could do it this way. grin I would say it ranks up as one of the biggest burns in NFL history, if not the biggest brun of all time. grin

Now that he is here, it is not just a burn to GB anymore, he wants to playball and win. He has the ability to do this. You can not give all the credit to Favre, but you have to admit that even just his presence has totally changed our teams mentality from another season-season, to "this is the season" grin

Then again, I am reminded of 1993 just a little grin Probably not as big of a deal as Favre, but my jaw dropped when another NFCN hi-pro QB "Jersey Jim" suited up as a Vike:

punky_qb_feature.jpg

jim-mcmahon.jpg

After 86' and all the hype, as a kid I never thought I was see number 9 with a Vike's jersey on grin Well of course unless Pete Rozelle forbid him from wearing it laugh

The thing that differs Jersey Jim from Favre is Jim did it purely for money, Favre is not. Farve wants to be a Viking grin

I am guessing Green Bay fans were not whining much when they brought in Reggie White to solidify the defense. That played out pretty well didn't it. When I think of Reggie White I still picture him as an Eagle. So it goes! That is pro sports.

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
