I think we can all just about agree that this was to be the end all be all for the twins season.

With tonights game being rained out, and the resulting day/night double, I think this may be the death nail to the twins playoff push.

Playing a day/night means they will loose Mauer behind the plate for one of them. If they would have played the games as schedualed, mauer behind the plate, I feel they would have stood a better chance of getting the wins they need. Detroit is going to run all over Morales. They did it befor why wont they do it again? Pitching/the pen???? They have a hard time going back to back on 24 hour's rest, 4 hours break between games. eek OOOFFFFTAAhhhh

I hope I am proven wrong, I just have a bad feeling about this one. frown

More times than not it seems like double headers end in splits. The Twins need to win 3 of 4 just to go to the final weekend tied for 1st!

Hope they win the first one! At least the crowd may be smaller for the 11am game!

It certainly is going to be a tougher road, but thats why you play the games! We have to beat them one way or another or else the season could be over!

The Twins have been great the past few weeks but I agree that their backs are really up against the wall.

Its been fun watching them fight for the title the last month but I'm worried that it will all end in the next day or two.

I hope they prove me wrong. I will be watching for sure.

Wow some of you just floor me with your opinions. You praise and then give up on them b-4 anything has even played out, all in the same sentence.

This is not the time to get wishy washy. If the Twins go 5-2 that should be good enough to win the division. The pressure is clearly on Detroit and NOT Minnesota. They will play loose and hopefully sweep the doubleheader. The pitching and defense is the key today.

PETER POSITIVE IS ON BOARD, DO I HAVE ANY COMPANY

Thanks ULT I figured you for die hard fan from way back. Like said 1 down 3 to go. If you thought there was pressure on Detroit b-4 the first game, it just got worse for them. They are hurtin. The pressure is building big time.

Cmon Twins nice and easy and enjoy the game and you shall be fine.

If Mauer were half the stud you all make him out to be I don't think it would even be an issue whether he played in both games. I would just assume he would strap on the shin guards and keep playing. Look at my beloved Pale Hose in the 05 World Series, thier starting pitchers did not tell Ozzie that they would give him 5 good innings and then hope the bullpen could take it from there, they just kept pitching and all four almost pitched complete games! I can assure you that if the Sox needed two wins at the end of the season and were playing a double header that Mark Buehrle would be the first one in Ozzies office volunteering to pitch BOTH games! Look at Verlander, he holds the league record this year for pitching over 120 pitches in 10 games this year. Superstars come to the rescue of their team while others rest on the bench. Put me in coach, I'm ready to play, look at me, I can be, centerfield..........Or something like that!

The nice thing about about the twins is look at the payroll. Think if they were like NY mets/ yanks/ chi sox and some other teams we would be domanite. But I would rather Think of it as the big money players on the twins are some of the best players in baseball. Mauer would start on ANY Team in MLB, and the same goes with Mornoe. Nathan haveing what 45 saves? give are take if you ask me they do perty dang good for what they got. I am mean look at the sox we domanted them again this year and look at their payroll

Hot Spot

I did not realize you were a part owner of the Twinks. Congratulations on getting so many fans to appreciate cheapness. Until baseball teams start handing out stock options to fans I say spend away, if that one extra player brings me a ring then it is worth it. By the by, Hot Spot, what year does it read on the Twinks World Series ring? Go ahead and polish it up to get the tarnish off so you can read it, I will wait........

Sox says 2005 baby!
