Driftless
Who do you think was the highest rated qb in collegethat looked terrible in the NFL?Leaf....Smith....AkilSmith....Drafted ahead of Rodgers.Broehm...practice squad..would have been number one pick if year earlier...Endless college qbs that looked like ball boys in NFL.I believe the next to look like a foolin the NFL is more of a fullback than aquarterback and will be highly regarded until he meets up with the size and speed of the NFL lineman.I believe he has even won a Heisman? fishin58
Tebow = the next Dallas Clark. You forgot Leinert, Vince Young, I have not watched a Jamarcus game, but I guess he is just putrid. I think he messed his game up the most by not getting to camp his rookie year and it prolly hasnt helped to have his first few years in Oakland..... so haaad
Ryan Leaf and Akili Smith top the list.
Mr.Seaguar
Ryan Leaf does not belong on the list. I will chronicle Leafs introduction to the NFL: Mr. Leaf, wolves. Wolves, Mr. Leaf. The reason everyone knows about him is the media wolves ate him alve and then showed the film of it at 11. He was playing for Marty Shottenheimer the Kansas City and Browns coach. He was thown out there to the media and to the Dlinemen come gametime. He couldnt leave San Diego fast enough. If Farve came out of college today, he would make this list. Remember he was a Falcon first. Its not always the players fault. Todays players never have to work again after the first contract so if they dont make it they go home, set up a daily teetime and start selling something. Chuck Long from Iowa should be in the NFL HOF. He could throw the ball forever. But he went to Detroit and was never heard from again. Most players at any posistion are busts. Guys like Akili Smith and Andre Ware were just bad choices. Real busts are the Todd Marinoviches, Cade Mcknowns, Matt Leinarts, Heath Shuler. I don't think you can put Leinert in that group just yet. He hasn't played enough to provide a decent evaluation, and showed enough in the rookie year to think that he can still be a good pro QB. so haaad
Ryan Leaf had twice as many interceptions as touchdowns and never developed into anything remotely close to a NFL caliber QB. Part of the Ryan Leaf career flop was his own doing...his ego and lack of judgement prevented him from doing anything with another team after San Diego. The other part is that he was the #2 pick and was compared to Manning coming out of college.
zamboni
Andre Ware and Gino Toretta both won Heismans and went SPLAT in the NFL.I am gonna edit this and add alot more to these 2, I pulled up a list of all the Heisman winners, there is a ton of them on there:Chris Weinke, Jason White, Eric Crouch, Danny Wuerffel, Charlie Ward (good BB player though), Ty Detmer. And so far, in his very few NFL appearances Matt Leinert has stunk it up.
zamboni
Looked up Charlie Ward on Wiki, I didn't know in addition to his pro basketball career and his very decent college football numbers that he was drafted by the Brewers and the Yankees to be a pitcher, that is pretty impressive. fishin58
I fogot about Jason White, I think he is coaching though.
Mudcutter
Pryor at Ohio State,, unreal athlete, just can't throw the ball.A lot like Vince Young.A few others; Troy Smith,, Rex Grossman,, David Klinger, PAt White. Both Bradford and McCoy will be busts. When was the last time the BIG 12 put out a NFL QB that's a stud?? The dude at Central Mich will pan out better.
zamboni
Speaking of Big 12, I know he won't even be drafted, but I think Todd Reesing from KU would have just as good of a shot as anyone in that conference in the NFL. Reesings got some talent, and is highly underrated
gr8icefishinmind
Watch out for Miami qb jacory harris........kid is going to be a great pro ball player i have a feeling!!!Great field awareness and patience in the pocket and the kid as a gun for an arm!! gr8icefishinmind
no he didn't, not the best playing conditions though and VT had a heck of a pass rush!
Double D
Vinny Testeverde - don't know if he should be on this list, but the guy maybe couldn't help it because he always played on horrible NFL teams, at least for his first 12 or 13 years.DD
