Was out tonight and boy the deer were moving. I just get to my spot and see five trying to run through the snow they were to far out for a shot watched them for a while till they made there way to the thicket then I start glassing around and find 5 bedded 150+ yards to the east of me about 4:30 they get up and go into the thicket too then seen nothing for no more then 5 minutes then the flood gates opened they came out of the thicket one right after another but to far away after they all walked doen the line to the little corn field where my buddy was I snuck across the open to the fenceline where they had walked while doing that more came out of the thicket I finally make it to the fenceline where they all had already walked look to my right and there are two more while watching them one comes back from the field let that one walk by at 30yds figureing the other ones will be closer they start moveing on at about 20yrds and another comes back from the field and picks me out right a way I think to myself I messed up on not takeing the 30yrd shot when a real nice buck comes walking in and starts browsing at 20 I get drawn on his and wait for the right moment and then let it fly right over his back frown I know I should of made the shot count and have countless times before I am still looking at tag soup for now

My buddy had lots of luck tonight to but got no shot off cause there was to many deer around him he said he was hunting the corn field this being his first full bow season he was excited as can be thats what it is about though right

Finally got my doe last night. Went out and decided to move my ground blind quick over a big trail that appeared over night. Had a group of five come out and I took the first doe that gave me a shot. Not a huge doe she dressed out at a little over 100 pounds. Hopefully they have a good winter this year with all the corn still standing and bring the numbers up a little bit. Now I gotta switch my attention to getting rid of some coyotes.

Last chance deer. Started out Sunday morning for last effort to get some meat. Had no luck on Sunday. Monday me and my brother needed to see where the deer were hiding or bedding in the day. Did a little deer drive to see if we could get them moving. On the way to the end of a wood row where the drive was going to start my brother spotted a nice doe bedded 30 yds of the driveway. Couldn't get a shoot at her. He tried to push her my way. No such luck. But he did manage to come up on 7 fresh deer beds. We know had an idea where they are. Moved a stand for the following morning. Still no luck. Tuesday tried another drive to see what we can push around Jumped up 11 Deer in all Tuesday morning. Still no luck coming my way. It was nice to see the wind switch From a NW to a S gave us a chance to sit in other stands we have been wanting to try. At about 4:45 I had three doe come out of a swamp heading for corn. I was still 200 yards in the wood from the field. Never gave me a chance to shoot. Right a 5:00PM another doe came out and gave me a very little time to get of a shoot. Rushed the shoot clean miss right over her back at 35yds. I was happy to have had the shoot and finally see some deer. Disappointed in my miss. It was my first time seeing deer out of my Double Bull Blind, she had no idea I was sitting at the top of this little hill. Can't get out to day but plane on sitting as much as possible on Thursday. Possible do another drive. Good luck to all.

Went out yesterday for the evening hunt. Never saw a thing. No fresh tacks where I was since the last big snowfall. I did here something though..... I think it was the Fat Lady clearing her throat for tomorrow. My seaon is over. Deer Tag Soup. I guess I never should have passed up the 4 does and 8 point buck I saw at 10 yards on opening day. Thats hunting. Can't wait till next year to do it all over again.

With no deer this year I guess I will have to eat all of the ducks and pheasants I shot this year instead of deer. Huh? Yeah right. I guess I can finally defrost the deepfreeze this winter. Oh well, I heard Rainbow has porterhouse on sale for 4.99/lbs.

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
