Thinking about having a little get together tourney on Calhoun on September 27th or October 4th. Anyone interested?

My calendar says a baptism the 27th, and October is all muskie all the time. Any bass that time of year are purely accidental.

Yeah, just can't use the big motor. Would help even the playing field for ones that don't have the 200+hp motors.

One of the funniest moments I've had while canoeing on Calhoun was passing a stripper glitter boat towing another stripper glitter boat that ran out of juice. 400 hp was no match for those big 'ol pipes coming out of my shirt sleves.

Put me down as a definite maybe for the 27th.

I don't have a live well so I'm out - I've never fished it, but I know I'd stick close to the walking path just for the views!

Is it strictly calhoun only or the whole chain of lakes? Will parking be an issue? I'm interested

I fished it for the first time this AM. Interesting and very clear lake, did ok lots of smaller 12-14" fish and one chunky 19". Mainly tossed heavy jigs and dropshots on the milfoil edges. The 'scenery' was pretty nice but it might not be as nice later in the fall...

I could see parking being a problem but if you get an early start there should be sufficient parking on the streets.

Livewell in my boat isnt big enough for a limit.

Yeah but if you have a 75lb electric you'll still be moving around the lake twice as fast as someone with a 40lb. It'd just be a slow motion race to the hot spots.

I have never fished Calhoun before, but it sounds fun... Nice way to spend a saturday anyways... We should try and get some plaques made up of something fo bragging rights! (Not really sure how much plaques cost, just an idea)

Count me in if it is the Oct4th.......Years ago they used to have a Aquatennial Tourney there and one well known local angler showed up one year with a john boat with 6 batteries.

Would it be a team tourney?

Shotgun start?

Could have flights based on boat power.....Paddles and oars go out first......40lb thrust and lower next 75lbs or less next....anything over 75lbs last flight.....

I have also heard rumors of a certin local guy that put a 202lb engine mount Minnkota on the boat and could just about pull a skier. Might be the same deal.
