Not much action yet although I am regretting my pick of starting Tony Stewart now, too bad he is not feeling well enough to drive. Hopefully Yeley can make something can make something of the race.

Their constant lead-ins to the commercials on the bottom are creepy. I don't like it at all.

Go number NINE!!!!

Races like this with coverage like the TNT crew have are what is going to make fans stop watching the races. This is the first time I have been home to watch a race in four weeks, but I don't think I missed anything. These guys are horrible. Arguing on air about how to score the ending of this race was embarrassing to listen to.

I thought they were better than the last few weeks but nothing like FOX. The race ended up being pretty exciting. I did horrible this week! Next plate race I am doing the eny-miny-moe thing!

I didn't see the race and I'm almost afraid to ask how the Rat finished 1st. I saw in the Busch race how he did when he was warned for bump drafting in the corners.

SmackMurray's temper seems to be getting the best of him at times. He is another one that never takes the blame for an accident.

I don't know what to say about TNT's coverage other than, just when you think it can't get any worse, it does. NASCAR should pull their rights to broadcast the races with garbage like that bottom window taking up 1/3 of the screen, for just one example. There is only one week left of that circus but it's one week too many. For being in the sport all his life Kyle Petty sure knows a lot about nothing, and even less about NASCAR.

Anyone else notice the number of open seats last night? Pretty sad when you can't even sell out Daytona.

if they would stay with that stupid window it wouldnt be

all that bad, but they had to do the regular commercials

too... kyle petty must have learned a new word this week.

CAMBER thats all he was talking about..

Lets see, how much can we pay NASCAR to get the coverage and then how little can we give back?

There are making money and we recieve poor coverage.

Problem is, NASCAR gets paid big for the airtime rights and TNT makes a bunch of the commercials. They are both happy and the fans get the raw end of the deal.

They never seem to give you good views of anything. Not enough cameras? Just an example: I think that we only got one poor viewing when Kyle Busch almost lost it and ended up on the apron and going to the back. I was a little tired so maybe I missed it. They also can't go 10 laps without mentioning the 24, even if he is doing something completely unremarkable. The coverage is not about racing for position it is just a bunch of random comments about who is loose and who is tight..etc...

I was sitting up and watching the race and I have to say that those commercials with "full race coverage" were the worst thing I have ever seen a network do. Then when you thought they were done they would actually cut out to a commercial. I wonder if anyone has come up with a pop up blocker for the television because if this is what it is going to be like we are all going to need one! I am hoping that the other networks in the coming weeks will have better announcers, color guys and coverage of the race.

Career wise I would rate him 3rd behind K Busch and Montoya but this year McMurray is wrecking a lot of people for sure.

They all have a long ways to go to catch Jeff Green. Even in his short career he's put some cars on the hook.

What is worse, when TNT got the coverage of NASCAR when you would go to the NASCAR site to check stats or whatever the TNT pop-up would come up. How far do we have to go? As much as I hated the coverage on ABC last year, I am actually looking forward to it after this garbage on TNT.

Fox is nascar...once u watch it on fox it ruins it for every other channel....

Jeff Gordon seemed a little too happy go lucky when they interviewed him after the race. Where is his passion? Maybe hes too rich to care anymore...hes got more things to worry about (like 50 jeff gordon product lines) than winning races.

Tony Stewart is a spaz sometimes, yeah, but he cares if he wins or loses. I expect guys to get mad.

It almost seemed like one of that parody of an Olympic event where everything leading up and including the race has a sponsor. It was like - where does the race begin and the commercial end?

Not good.

There should be no green/white/checkers finishes on plate tracks. All they do is tear up equipment. What were there another 15 destroyed race cars on this one? Just dumb...

Good point Lawdog. It is crazy every time they do a green white checker on a plate track and it seems more and more that every plate race has one. All it does is create the big one that everyone fears for the first 395 miles of the the race.

      Thanks for  good read !

Was this your first elk trip ?

Yep for most in the group it was our first real trip out West, next trip will probably be mule deer, tag soup on elk hurts a lot more with how pricey those tags are.

    • I am planning to be there as well.

    • I also use the zman original chatterbait. I am a chatterbait nut. Probably one of my favorite baits to throw. The strike king pure poisons are great too but swim a little lower in the water column than the zmans. My biggest fish the past few years have usually come on a chatterbait in the spring and fall. Early spring and late fall I will use mostly a chartreuse/white chatterbait with a white super fluke as a trailer. Very subtle action on the fluke, which I love in the colder water periods. Once the water starts warming up a bite I will switch to a lake fork tackle live magic shad. I'll throw mostly the zmans candy craw with a green pumpkin lake fork magic shad. I fish these over the top and through weeds in the spring and fall and rip them if they get caught in the weeds. They also work great around docks and skipping them under docks. A few weeks ago I wish fishing a dirty lake with a great dock bite and caught about 18-19lbs off of chatterbaits by fishing them around docks and skipping them under docks.

    • I think we all need to keep in mind that the defense is basically the exact same group of players and coaches that were together all of last year.  They should be performing better than the offense.  Whereas, the offense has been completely reshaped during the off season and through injury.  It will take time to gel.  Also, remember the impact Diggs made last year once he was ready to play.  Zimmer just made the same comment about Treadwell not being ready yet.  Not saying he will make a huge impact, but he could provide an improvement over Johnson.  The O line needs to get it figured out.  Berger is solid, Fusco and Clemmings are improving.  Boone/Sirles and Smith need to get better quickly.

The defense carried the team through the last two weeks, which are also the most difficult weeks with the exception of GB in GB.  They are in great shape with what appears to be a favorable schedule based on early results in the NFL.  If the offense improves and the defense remains solid, they should have a good chance to win in most games.  Not saying they will win all games, just a chance to win.  And hope it doesn't come down to a last second field goal!

They have to tell themselves something because admitting that their party and these candidates are trash is too hard for some. It's almost religious the amount of devotion some people have to these parties.

Irrational Escalation of Commitment is certainly present - from both sides - in a major way this election cycle. I think it's odd that so many people on both Team Blue and Team Red are unwilling to admit that their party's candidate is a turd with enormous flaws that ought to disqualify them from serious consideration for office.

    • MH casting rod, braided line (w/fluoro leader if needed in clear water), grass pig or skinny dipper for a trailer. Great year-round bait...too many people think of it only as a spring/fall deal, but it will whack em all year.
    • I've been using the Strike King Pure Poison version of the chatterbait mostly because like the line attachment better.  They use a oval split ring instead of a snap that is on the Zman version.  I usually use a swim bait or a grub, for a swim bait I started using a lake fork paddle tail but it got to be too expensive, so I switched to using a havoc grass pig.  I usually use braided line with mine to prevent bite offs from Pike.

    • A lot of the people that I know who were Bernie supporters seem to be leaning 3rd party at the moment.  They were supporting Bernie because they were fed up with the crapola we are normally fed and they saw it as a vote against the system.  Now that he's out of the race and we are stuck with these 2 candidates they are still on the "buck the system" trend and are leaning toward a 3rd party candidate of some sort.  We'll see how they actually vote when the time comes as the lure to vote against Trump will probably be strong with them so they may still vote Hillary despite their own objections. Personally the debate didn't change my opinion and I don't anticipate anything that will change my mind before the election.  I'm still planning to vote for Doogie Howser, M.D.
