Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Who Believes.....?

Recommended Posts

OK. So, I just joined a group called TIPSMN: The Investigative Paranormal Society of Minnesota. TIPSMN

Read about some of the stuff they do.

It got me thinking... How many of you believe in ghosts or the paranormal?

Paranormal, I don't think so. Ghosts, haven't seen one yet. Shadow people, see them all the time (seriously)! If my furniture starts rearranging itself I'll give you a call! grin

I do enjoy listening to Coast To Coast whenever I can but most of it is just pure entertainment. For those of you who are not aware of Coast To Coast it was started by Art Bell who made it the highest rated overnight radio program. They deal with all types of unusual topics from ghosts to UFO's to Cryptozoology and top it off with conspiracy theory's, Remote viewing, and anything else you could possible think of.

I would say it intreegs me. I'm sure there are things that go on that can't be explained. My wife loves Ghost Hunters. I used to, but they never find anything.

I start my drive to work at 3:30 AM and occasionally listen to some of the AM band radio stations. There is one out of Denver that always has some author with a book on paranormal activities, Conspiracy theories, UFO's, Secret societies and gas saving super gadgets. They take callers who claim to have seen/been apart of whatever the subject of the day is. I listen because it is Entertainment. It would take a whole lot of proving to make me a believer.

Have fun with TIPSMN.

We've had 2 different episodes in our house.

The first one was when my now 6 year old was about 8 months old and sleeping in his crib.

There was a little music box on a shelf above his crib, which was given to him by his grandma, but never used.

One night, after we had laid him down and gone to sleep, my wife and I had both heard about 2 notes of a music box, but didn't think anything of it, went back to sleep.

About 10 minutes later, it was longer, and DISTINCTLY louder and my wife and I both sat up in bed. It was loud enough where you would have thought the music box was in the bed, right next to your head.

I got up to check on the kid and I had forgotten to put the side of the crib back up, and he was about ready to fall out.

The second time, actually many times, but I guess I'll just say second "occurence?" is I'm with airjer, I see shadow people in my basement all the time. I've asked my parents numerous times if they know of anyone that's been buried nearby, or indian burial grounds, whatever.

I'm 35 now, and have lived in this house for what will be 30 years at the end of this summer, and yes, my parents have moved out, my wife and I do not live in my parents basement. blush

Anyways, yes, I believe.

I think everyone has seen them at some point but never new what it was. You see something/something moving in your peripheral vision that isn't there when you turn and look. It doesn't have shape but it looks like a shadow and they never seem to be stationary, Its the movement that gets your attention.

One of my most fave things is sitting out on the river at night listening to Coast to Coast while out catfishing. It has spooked me off the river a few nights though while fishing by myself. laugh Sitting out on the river at 3am by yourself in the dark your mind starts to play tricks on you. lol

I have never seen one, but who knows? Always have an open mind, and go with where evidence takes you.

The comment/post about "stop playing with Mrs. BBQs angels...." was good.

----

A large part of me wants to believe in the supernatural, life after death, crop circles, UFOs, and life on other planets but my mind cannot logically get me there.

PS I am not too eager to find out about life after death. Nyuk, nyuk.

A buddy of mine growing up had a house right accross the street from a funeral home. Apparently someone died in my buddies bedroom. Every morning the closet doors would be open even if you closed them and heard the latch click. His mom has had blankets pulled off the bed, and they've seen this "ghost" a few times. I wouldnt have believed any of it but I heard most of it from his mom! Only happened when the dad was away though. It was actually pretty fun sleeping over (or I should say trying to sleep) over at his place when we were young. But I dont believe in that kind of stuff now.

When I lived in Lees Summit Missouri I thought our duplex we lived in was haunted. We had a touch lamp that continuously turned itself either on or off, and once when I had taken a shower we had a towel hanging next to the mirror and when I was standing there it was like someone had a hold of the corner and was waving it like a flag. No heat/ac on and no windows in there.

BTW- the movie The Sixth Sense, seen it in the theater when it came out and have seen it about a dozen times since. I watched it on Encore last summer- still gets to me.

Ghosts, goblins, spooks, and things that go bump in the night are all things I feel are in someones head. Believe what you will, I'm opting to not believe in these types of things.

I have totally freaked out both my mom and my wife by moving things around and they swear it was angels.

I will say, though, that I believe there is probably some form of life out there somewhere on other planets or stars or on something we don't even know about. It's just a little arrogant to think that we, on this planet, are the only living things in the entire universe.

    • I want to hunt on a Wma that's borders up to a lake. It is legal to launch from the Wma and roam around the lake and hunt on my canoe? Keeping in mind I'm away from houses and not being on land or property.
    • Hey guys, now that you guys are pulling out your houses to check them over it is also a great time to add the Sure Step.  If anyone has any questions let me know or check out my Facebook page SureStepSD.   Thank you.
    • I've been using the Eagle Claw inline for 4 seasons now and it's always been a good cheaper option.  Never had a real problem with it.  For all the drag issues I hear about it, it didn't let me down at all when I hooked into a 27" lake trout while fishing for rainbows last season.  On that note, I was able to try 13's 6061 reel for a bit last season and that sucker is so freaking smooth that I'm going to get one this season.  If don't want to spend $80 on a top-of-the-line inline like 13 Fishing, the Eagle Claw works just fine at $30.
    • I am all for folks finding and sharing a good deal. Just don't let it be a direct link to another forum. thanks
    • CM, what is Chi doing with Hossa?  If Parise can't go or only can give 75% why not shelf him like Chi did with Hossa and save that cap space.
    • Stealing this idea from the old "Meat Sales" thread, where people share info on great deals grocery stores are currently running. Since we're getting close to the hard water season, I thought we could create a thread where people can share any good deals on ice fishing gear or apparel. Anything goes, if you see a sale on ice fishing equipment and think others might be interested in it, let us know.
    • This is a common misconception with LTIR. I too, thought it meant we "saved" money until I read up on it recently. What LTIR actually allows is for a team to go OVER the cap during a player(s) on LTIR, but once they return, they have to get back under the cap. So, true, it would allow them to spend more, but over the long haul it wouldn't be something they could go out and get someone to fill in without haven't to do something when the LTIR players return.
    • Population is up in NW WI where I hunt public land for deer.  I see grouse every time I go to deer stands or scouting, which is much improved over even a couple years ago.  I just can't get one to stand still for a bow shot, they are very skittish over there.
    • NW Wisconsin public land.  New scrapes started appearing mid last week.   A couple were freshly hit on Sunday when I was out.  None were very big.    Interestingly I did see a small 6pt buck in the open at lunch time while I was scouting spots, and based on the direction he was going he was working his way to a logging road that had a scrape and tracks on it.
    • Only made it out for one day for resident opener this last weekend but we had a great hunt. Took the day off and got out yesterday and battled the heat. I almost chose to call it quits early but went slow and took our time but had to take lots of breaks in the field. It was 74 degrees out and if I found water the dog got dunked. Was pretty slow day didn't see a single bird or shoot my first bird until 3:30pm. Ended up shooting all 3 of my birds in the same WIA in the span of an hour. Dog pointed a group of 3 hens in the same spot and then another by itself. Went about 30 yards further and dog locked up. Flushed bird it was rooster and dropped it on the first shot. As I shot 2 other roosters got up in gun range. With just one shell left in my O/U I rushed a shot going for a double, doh. Focused on where downed bird went down and sure enough another rooster gets up in the same spot it went down. Rushed both shots thinking it was the same bird I already knocked down. doh x2 Fortunately dog was able to retrieve first bird so was nice to put one in the vest for our first bird of the year. Took a water break and regrouped as that was a lot of excitement in a short amount of time and dog was overheated. Sat there for about 20 mins and let dog catch his breath. Started working field again and we no more and got started and dog locks up. Flush bird and its a rooster and he only needed one shot before he folded. Retrieved to hand and continued on.   Continue working to end of the property and saw a few more hens and one other rooster that I didn't want to drop over the water and thick cattails. He didn't fly far and hoped to get him on the way back as we walked side we hadn't covered yet. Dog locked up again on the other side and I let the bird get out a ways. Dropped it on the first shot and figured we were done for the day as it folded hard. It ended up being a runner and took off straight for the mud and thick cattails. We tried to track it, found some feathers so thought we were right on it. But once the dog got buried deep in the thick stuff it was just too warm. No scent going through there and he was getting way too overheated so I called him off the track.  We did end up getting our 3rd bird of the day with another nice point and retrieve. Was a good day to be out despite the heat. I spend the rest of the day scouting out other areas to hunt. Put about 350 miles on the truck and other than that one walk didnt see anything else. Did shoot a couple coons though and found a great set of antlers.  Unfortunately I forgot to bring my gopro and only took a couple pics.
