Wish-I-Were-Fishn
What is the best way to capture and save Netflix videos? I want to put them on my iPad.
highlife4me
There is no "best way" because it is illegal.
delcecchi
It may be unlawful but if you type "capture netflix video" into google, a number of interesting sites come up. Probably up to you to look at them and decide whether the methods are something you would care to do.
LMITOUT
There is no "best way" because it is illegal. Unless someone else has some insight on the legality of this I would assume the same and would not advise any other comments in regards of how to illegally copy this type of media.Thanks. Wish-I-Were-Fishn
Nuff said. Just thought it would be nice to have something to watch on the plane without paying iTunes to watch something I already pay to get on Netflix. Gesh... didn't know it was a legal issue. nofishfisherman
Some airlines are starting to offer wifi service on flights (mostly international at this point). If they offer wifi on your flight you can just download the Netflix app on your ipad and then tie into their wifi (for a fee I'm sure). delcecchi
If you rent a movie from amazon you can download it to the device and have 24 hours to watch it.

This is the only legal way to do it on Netflix.
delcecchi
do the airlines have enough bandwidth to support streaming? (although you could about buy the movie to download for what they charge for wifi)
straydog
You can also rent movies from google play and download them before the trip.
Wish-I-Were-Fishn
No big deal, I'll just rent a movie on iTunes before I go like I've done in the past. Maybe Netflix will have the option to download instead of stream in the future... maybe not.I love being able to stream content on Netflix while at the gym on their wifi. Makes the aerobic portion of my workout fly by.
PierBridge
No kidding! I've been jamming on the Treadmill/stair-stepper to some killer movies of late. Down 23 pounds to boot!

AaronM
Not Netflix, but the Watchlater IPad app lets you load videos onto the app to watch at a later time. Legal, $.99, and a really nice way to watch free media at your leisure.

All domestic flights now have wifi as well. Their satellite internet does not have the bandwidth to support netflix however, or any streaming video apps. GoGo-inflight states that right on the home screen when you connect up.
Shack
You can screen capture Netflix but it will not come out with any free screen capture programs. The App senses it if I recall. Only the pay and expensive ones and it's much cheaper to go the options stated. Even then it ain't easy or of any good quality.

I watched a full movie on my phone the last flight I took. I had 2 times where it had to buffer, but other than that it worked fine.
upnorth
I would suggest that anyone wishing or wanting to capture netflix movies for viewing later check the legality before doing so. Most case there is copyright issues. And I don't think this is a good place recommend questionable activities.
Wish-I-Were-Fishn
Come on guys, I already said I was just going to rent through the Apple store. Please read all the previous posts before commenting further. I don't need any more armchair lawyer comments, or advise on this. I had no clue it was a legal issue in the first place. Enough said, let it rest.
upnorth
Wish I did see your posts previously, but there are also others that have read and commented on this topic. But I agree, may be time to let this one go.
