MN Shutterbug
My wife and I were in the cities babysitting, this weekend, My son in law had told me about an eagels nest, not too far from their house. When we got to the area, he was perched up in a tree. Luckily, instead of flying away, he came and flew right past us. I really didn't plan on taking pictures this weekend. MN Shutterbug
Thanks, everyone. Yes Birdsong, I was thrilled. It was proably less than 30 seconds of shooting, but I can relive the moment for quite some time. Everything was on my side. The lighting was perfect and the eagle was kind enough to fly by twice, instead of flying directly away. Sometimes, luck smiles on you. mmeyer
Yeah, but what about my offer. Oh yeah, I'll throw in $3 an hour since you have to drive!

2u77matt
X, Do you mind sharing how close this bird came to you? Even at 400 mm, it seems like an eagle would have to fly by unusually close to get shots like these. Great work.
MN Shutterbug
2u77matt, he was quite close. Picture #5 wasn't cropped at all. The most I had to crop any of them, was maybe eliminating 35%. In fact, I'm going redo #5 by adding some canvas so I can get him composed properly. Thanks dbl, for mentioning the canvas tool. I had completely forgot about that trick. Thus, I was able to salvage and post 2 additional shots. Maybe I should make a collage.
