East Rush Rules
Spiderwire EZ Braid. Has anybody used it, or does anybody like it? They have a rebate going on right now so you can get it for 4 bucks a box instead of 9. Lets hear what you think!
TonkaBass
I looked at that line the other day and didn't like it at all. It looks a lot like fusion, which was junk.
bassNspear
I have not used it. I have been using Stren Super Braid, and its awesome!
Ray Esboldt
Fusion was decent the first 2 years they made it. Then they changed something, and it was the worst line I have ever put on a reel. All you had to do was make about 10 cast with it and it would start to fray. I probably still have some full spools of it somewhere if anyone wants it.I still think the best braid made was Fenwick Iron Thread. It was stiff, but it lasted forever. Or, maybe I just remember it that way.Power Pro still gives me the best bang for the buck.
Muddog
Now there is a Fireline Braid. I guess to many people lost lures on the cast. I know I've lost my share of spoons casting with 30lb fireline. The darn thing won't float!
gunning
I have Sufix green 50lb/12dia on two reels and I'm really impressed with the way that line casts. Its softer and more limp then the other braids I have used.
TonkaBass
Ray, I agree... pretty tough to argue with powerpro, but I have talked to a bunch of people who love the stren braid like bass-n-spear.
st.crioxfishin
I was a little dissapointed that they discontinued stren super braid, but from taking a look at the new stren sonic braid it looks like they pretty much just changed the name of their braided line and added some casting qualities to it(smoother casts supposedly). Sonic braid is what I'll be using this year
Pherris
I have fished them all and most happy with power pro.
Fever
I am also a fan of Power pro... I use 40, 30, 20, and 12 lb tests for different applications. I also use berkley vanish (6,10,& 20 lb) for a leader in some applicatins tied to the pp with a back to back uni knot. I've been happy with these products and will continue to use them with comfort and confidence.
East Rush Rules
I also love my power pro, but i was just wondering if anybody has had any experiences with this stuff.
Cecil
I use Spiderwire, Stren Super and Fireline.
RossT
Like Cecil, I use Fireline on spinning gear, Spiderwire Ultracast, and last night I received a sample of the new Fireline Braid. Some my initial assessment, the Fireline Braid seems AWESOME. First off - it's a true braid like Spiderwire or Powerpro. Second - it's a round braid. Third - the weave on the braid is incredibly tight. I think that Fireline Braid will be my top choice after I get some casts and hooksets with it. olski
You will have to let us know what you think about it after yo use it for a couple weeks. A buddy of mine used the tracer braid last year and it was great at first but after a week or so it got very soft and I can only discribe it as cloth like. I will second the props for suffix braid as long as you stick with green. I picked up some yellow thinking I would color it at the end. The coating in it to make it yellow is BAD stuff! More memory that old floro. (OK maybe not that bad, but close.)
