PAM ON AUGER BLADES

i have heard of folks doing it but have not tried myself. if you are super careful and never set your blades in the snow you should be alright.

with that being said the other day i was out on laker opener and the temp was 35 below and windy and there was nothing i could do...the water froze pretty much instantly...after about 5 or 6 holes i had a block of ice on my blades.

i think some pam would have kept some of the water off my blades. if i remember im going to try next time out

Just be careful what you put on your blades, cuz you'll be dipping it right into the lake...

Sure, a little residue on an auger or two wont make much of a difference at all, and it's probably still cleaner than most boat engines dump into a lake, but it all adds up.

I guess a good point to using pam when popping your holes is that your fish is ready to hit the pan as soon as it comes out wink.

Any product with teflon or a dry spray aerosol will do a much better job than Pam or similiar products. I spray the bottom of my Frabill sled and auger with a dry spray aerosol (teflon)and it works wonders.

I just bought a SM Mag 2000, they (Strike Maser) recommended it. But I don't do it and it hasnt been an issue...

I've had the same for a year and have never done it. Have seen no problems.
