Hi all - haven't been around much, tinkering with gear and the trailer.

I'm totally ready from opener and our GTG.

I have a feeling its going to be a cwayzzy weekend

The launch sound good - thanks for taking care of that.

If the weather is nice I may go up Thurs otherwise I'll be there fri.

I was also thinking going up Thursday nite. Give me a good excuse to take Friday off.

I already have Fri. off but probably won't head out of the cities(southside)until after rush hour. Take my time heading up. I always love hitting the Goodwill or the Salvation Army in Elk River. Any other suggestions for thrift stores along the way?

On a side note - does anyone from the metro area carpool??

On a daily basis for work? or are you talking about up to Mille Lacs for the GTG?

For the GTG.

That might be a definite possibility - as long as you can put up with a "smoking car", classic rock all the way, and possible stops along the way (mentioned earlier). My Cavalier should handle everything.

I like classic rock, don't mind stops and/or if you don't mind smoking stops - I could drive too, I have a truck. I try to quit smoking. That way, if you buy something big, we have room.

Not really looking for anything big so either would work. I'm just kinda weird about driving - only 1 person I'm comfortable riding with and that took quite awhile. As we get closer, we can decide. Thats great you're trying to quit smoking - I can try to keep it to a minimum - or only make stops too. I try to be a courteous smoker.

I figure that if I can go all nite without smoking, what is a 2 hr drive without one??

My nephews and brothers are non-smokers. so I can wait if I have to, but look out when we stop!!

I quit years and years ago, but once in a while, oohhh - just to light one or two. As for carpooling - just a thought.

Always love a good roadtrip!! I remember one year going to Nisswa from Blaine and it took us ALL DAY!!, but we had a blast.

I just checked out their site again too and noticed that our launch has a bathroom! Now Teresa won't have to use her amazing pontoon maneuvers!

I think I'd like to see amazing pontoon maneuvers. Always gives you something to talk about around the campfire as well as ammunition for the next year.

I just know the rule of the weekend was similiar (if not precisely): What goes down at Appeldoorn's, stays at Appeldoorn's. I know I laughed so much that my stomach was sore! I'm hoping that most of the gals were laughing WITH me and not AT me!

Don't worry about Teresa's moves she will show you her boat moves instead. I too need to take more pictures this year. There should be a way to prepare the tummys for all that laughing.

I know I was a little nervous to meet people from an internet site but the fact is, we have a lot in common because of this site. It turned into a fun weekend and I met some really great gals.

Lisa - I was a bit nervous as well, but WTH, how dangerous can it be with a bunch of women fishing????

Nothing dangerous, no worries on that one. But some of these gals are dangerously good at fishing!
