Just read the article on star trib website about vikes possibly opening on thursday night in norleans. It simply amazes me when you read the comments how some people are still whining about how the vikes actually won that game. You read these comments and it's almost embarrasing to say you are a fan of the same teams.
You are whining about people whining so what's the differance. smile

You're not the one who is saying those things so why be embarrased to be a fan of whatever team you like?

I don't see an issue with fans talking about the facts. Errors and dirty play determined the outcome of that game pure and simple. Fans will always pick the errors and dirty play that stand out to them.

I realize there is a lot of offseason left, but are the Vikes going to do anything this year? Are they going to sign someone, fill in some of our big holes?

Sounds a lot like last year doesn't it? I'm begining to think they won't make any "big" moves.

Couldn't agree more, some of those calls were awful, but so was putting the ball on the ground about 20 times and that one pick at the end of the game... arghhhh it still haunts me.

hate to tell you, but it's a fact that the vikings did not win that game.

yeah, I suppose so.

unfortunately "fact" for some fans is that it was all a conspiracy because of a hurricane and that the vikes made absolutely no mistakes in the game or the games leading up to the playoffs where the vikes could have grabbed home field advantage and despite this, somehow the game was taken from them. and then that same poster would go on to say that at least he isn't a whiner like fans of the packers, cowboys, bears, etc. etc.

Still cant believe the queens got rid of Taylor!!! I would have traded AP for a 3rd round draft pick. Taylor was way better if you ask me. Vikings will be the same as last year if Favre plays. If he doesnt you guys will be 10-6 and the Pack will be 13-3.

Um. I'd actually like (love to) to see you attempt to defend your position here. Seems like a fun little jab, but Taylor over AP - Laughable. Cripes, your about a month late on this one too.

AP is in the top 5 for running backs but everyone is on to him. The Vikings need to change things up instead of doing the same running plays with him all the time. He had a bad year. AP isnt a game changer anymore. Something different has to happen. Sorry for the late responses!!!

A few signings today.

Quote:
Vikings re-signed restricted free agent S Eric Frampton to a one-year, $1.101 million contract.

Frampton, 26, isn't a big contributor on defense, but has settled in as a core special teamer for Minnesota. The former fifth-round pick out of Washington State racked up 16 tackles on kick and punt coverage last season.

Quote:
Vikings re-signed restricted free agent OL Ryan Cook to a one-year, $1.176 million contract.

Minnesota's right tackle in 2007 and 2008, Cook struggled in the first-team role and was more than adequately replaced by Phil Loadholt last season. Cook can play center, so he figures to hang around as a swing-type backup.

Quote:

Vikings re-signed restricted free agent DT Fred Evans to a one-year, $1.759 million contract.

Pat Williams' backup on the hose, Evans appeared in 12 games last year, making nine tackles off the bench. The 26-year-old's role is unlikely to increase significantly this year behind the Williams Wall and Jimmy Kennedy.

Smokescreen. Trying to get another team to trade up and get him. Could get us another first rounder next year when the quarterback crop is much deeper and much, much better. This is what I'm hoping for. Teams do this quite often.

One more signing

Quote:
Vikings re-signed restricted free agent FB Fahu Tahi to a one-year, $1.176 million contract.

Tahi, entering his age-29 season, has appeared in 31 games over the past two years with seven starts. He's caught 26 passes during that span, but has just three rushes and won't push for playing time as a ball carrier this year.

Quote:
Darius Reynaud said his move to running back is permanent.

He even has a new running back number, 27. Reynaud gives the Vikings some options as a third-down back, but he won't be a true backup to Adrian Peterson. That role still belongs to Albert Young and possibly a running back the Vikings draft.

Quarterback Tarvaris Jackson plans to sign his one-year, $1.176 million tender with the Minnesota Vikings, according to NFL sources. That will leave defensive end Ray Edwards as the Vikings’ only restricted free agent who has not signed his tender
