tybo
It's not unwanted input. This is a what if scenario. If that type of gun isn't for you that's fine. If you are content with an 870, SBE, etc it's perfectly fine. If someone else likes that style of gun then that's fine also. Nobody is right or wrong here, it's just a question. snowman678
I think some are missing the point of the original post here. It's not about who can afford what, and mine is better than yours. It's a what if money were not object, what would you buy? It's like asking what car would you buy if money were no object. Would you buy a ferrari, corvette etc. or would you buy a taurus and spend the rest on gas? If you could afford the ferrari, my bet would be that gas money would not be an issue. Just like if you could afford a 5-10,000 dollar gun, my guess is that where/how often you could hunt wouldn't be much of an issue either. As for me, I can't afford the 5-10k type guns, so I've never really looked at them, but my uncle just picked up a Merkel SxS 16 that is awfully nice. I've got a couple of nice auto's already, so my "dream gun" would be a over/under 16, not sure on brand.
Harmonica Bear
Winchester Model 21 for me. I also like the Baretta 686.
papabear
I do not know which one to buy but Id have fun testing them out of I could. I read alot about these expensive brit guns used by knigs and such. so i guess that would be a start.
Wanderer
Last deer season I was shown a catalog of a gun library that might have been in... Duluth? Can't remember for sure because I didn't figure I would ever stop there. WAY over my budget. But I'll say a gun in that league is instantly noticeable and would bet really sweet to shoot. If I had that pocket change that HAD to be used on a gun (dang it ) I would just have my current stuff tuned up and fitted to me. Other than that, anything would be an ornament and in a display case like my 50th Anniversary DU Browning A5. Never been fired. Best $10 I ever spent on a gun. WaveWacker
Browning Ciitori O/U 12 gauge
koonie
Kinda funny how most of the guns mentioned aren't even over $2000 much less $5000. I'm guessing that unless you've done some research most people have no idea what companies even make guns on that level. Just an observation. icehousebob
A hunting buddy of mine recently picked up a Winchester Model 21 in 20 gauge. And he hunts with it, not just leaves it in the gun vault. He also shoots his Winchester Model 73 rifle and his Savage 99, two barreled factory cased set. The idea of having twenty grand tied up in just three of his guns kind of floors me. mamohr686
Here is a pic of my Italian Piotti BSEE, most people have no idea what it is. If I could buy any gun it would be a fitted Boss, Holland & Holland, or Purdy If I would've put all my money into guns rather than my 401K last year,I would've come out a lot better. The tough part is finding a buyer in this market for expensive guns.
Thunderchicken
For me it would have to be a Barrett M107 82A1 in 50 BMG. The best long range shooting gun on the market. If you are going to dream, dream big!!

sparetime
AYA Sidelock or a Kimber Sidelock (SxS). You would have a few bucks change left out of your $5,000 (not much though) and have a fine shotgun. If you are spending that much, better get it fitted to yourself (cast, etc.)
