I got this hog of a walleye bass fishing today in my waders.

3:00 in the afternoon on a sunny day in 4 ft of water,

she smacked a spinnerbait and the fight was on. I measured her

on my fishing rod and was between 28" to 29". I took a snap shot on my camera phone and threw her back.

Nice catch Hester. That is a nice bonus. Is that a spinner bait you caught it on? I've had one hit my chatter bait fishing for bass.

NIce fish Hester, I had a tournament on a lake that looked quite similar to the one your on, I bet the chances are pretty slim though.. anyway, I caught back to back cats 29" walleye on a spinnerbait during a BASS tournament... tell you what I was pumped till I saw the white tip on the tail. LOL

Tournament was tough for my team. We had our limit at 9.3 lbs or something close. Big bag was over 22lbs and big fish was 5.69 pounds. Southwest bay fishing heavy jigs in and around matted grass seemed to be the way to go. Unfortunately, we mostly stuck to pounding reed areas.

Na Deitz, its a fairly small lake west of the metro, odds are you have not fished it. But its a lake I know Bassnspear is very familiar with. I thought it was a pig of a largie, but I was sure was surprised.

Just me, but I would say that fish didn't have a whole lot of time left anyways with the length and the grith. All that fishs' weight is in the head!

Yes Im getting a replica took tons of pictures and ons of measurements, and the fish is swimming along in the lake to be caught again.
