RonZych
When the DNR announced a possible change in the fishing opener date, little did it know mother nature was listening. The proposed change would have moved the opener 1 week ahead so not to conflict with Mothers Day. Everyone knows that the weekend weather before opening weekend is always beautiful. Well, mother nature thought this coming weekend was opener and didn't have time to change the weather pattern. 20s for lows and 40s for highs, windy, rainy. ITS NOT NICE TO FOOL MOTHER NATURE!!!!!OMG WE ARE DOOMED.....
RiverBassGuy
When she realizes we tricked her, it's gonna be a summer full of horizontal rain, hail, snow (it is MN ya never know), tornadoes, etc. And most importantly the terrible weather will always happen on weekends! hoggs222
Yeah, why is it that it's always nice on Mondays?
Down Deep
I seem to remember mother nature throwing a couple of really good punches on many of the traditional "Mother's Day" openers. It does always seem like the weather is better on the following Monday. If the opener were a week earlier I'd find somewhere to catch a walleye. rockman
That is exactly why I don't complain a whole lot about having rotating days off, most of those days being in the middle of the week.
slabchaser
I remember being anchored on a past opener and the wind switched picked up and sent my boat 180 degrees in the other direction

Rob and I fished more Mondays and Tuesdays last year than we did weekends. Many more Monday and Tuesday nights on the water coming up this summer. EYESTALKER
Best part of opener on Mille is Sunday at about supper time, when all the week-enders are trailering up and heading back to reality. At that point it's time to find your evening bite, bobber up and turn up Bear Facts and Fish Tales .
