The Packers will host the Vikings in the Monday Night Football opener on September 8.

The Redskins and Giants will kick off the season in a Thursday night game. The Vikings played only once in primetime last season, but will likely do so more this year due to the emergence of Adrian Peterson. It will be the first Packers game quarterbacked by someone other than Brett Favre since 1992. The second Monday night game on Sept. 8 will feature Denver at Oakland.

At least we wont have to listen to Madden pouting about Favre!

Great way to kick off the season. Don't have to worry about John Madden... he works for NBC and they have Sunday Night Football.

Yep, might as well get the black and blue division underway right away. I'm guessing the other game won't be till later on in the season than! Oh well it should make everyone excited and there shouldn't be any concern of selling out the first game of the year!

I thought the game was home but I think its in Green Bay?!? Anyone else see the Favre returning bit on ESPN today? Nothing proven but I wouldn't be surprised if #4 was taking the snaps by game 1.

I talked to Bret today and he said he leaked this idea because he was bored with being retired. He did say it was a joke and he had no intention of coming back.

There was already talk that they would be retiring Favre's #4 already at that game.

Hmmmm, season opener, number retirement for St. Brett, Packer fans with an extra half day of tailgating, should be interesting.

You queen fans keep yappin. I am sure the Purple are thankful to be playing in Lambeau early while its still warm. That means the late game of the year is inside. Football indoors...geeesh, Whats next? Golf courses switching to artificial turf? Maybe we can find a way to fish in artifical water too.

Vikings fans only wish they could have had Favre playing for them! If #4 would have been in purple they would have won a Superbowl by now. How many QB's have you been thru since Favre was in Green Bay? Speaking of scary...that dome is a pit!
