HUNTFISH69
I honestly don't know how you can vote Eli as the MVP, granted he did put together some good drives including the winner, but the Giants defense especially the line should have got the vote, or if not the line either Strahan or Tuck or someone else. Had it not been for the Giants pass rush last night, Brady would have sat back and just dismantled them.
Windy City Walleye Hunter
Agreed,The MVP should have come from the side of the ball that won the game for them...DEFENSE!Windy
snowman678
And had it not been for Eli's drive at the end, the Giants would have lost. Remember, their defense gave up a touchdown to Brady w/ less than 3 minutes on the clock??? Would they have been the MVP's if the Giants had lost? I'll agree that they had a great performance, but without the last minute touchdown from Eli, their performance would have still ended in a loss. Windy City Walleye Hunter
Snowman,They held the Pats to their lowest total of the year. Brady had 50 TD throws this year. Come on man, I know Eli stepped up at the end but how many drives did he tank that should have resulted in points, maybe 4 drives that could have tacked on at least 3 with a FG. Defense won this game, hands down!Windy
IFallsRon
NFL marketing made the selection. How many times do you think we'll see Eli and Peyton in commercials until the next season starts.
HuskerBen
Yep, it was a marketing decision. I think it should've been Strahan, but he wouldn't make commercials like Eli and Peyton will.
Scott M
Umenyiora, Tuck, or Strahan would all have been deserving. If Eli completes that touch pass he overthrew Burress on, he would have won it clear as day. Still, the botched handoff and the interception weren't his fault. He deserves it for how his entire postseason went.

Windy City Walleye Hunter
I really liked that Tuck kid. He was an animal. He got a ton of his "ugly" all over Brady's pretty boy face!Windy
not_nuf_time
You guys are missing the importance of the two Tyree catches for 1st downs on the fina drive. If he doesn't get them game over. tyree real MVP
SledNeck
I agree that the Defense was the MVP of the game. But if I had to pick one player...of course it would be Eli. To march down the field and will his team to win with 2:30 left and to escape how he did and then throw the ball and give Tyree a chance to catch it .....is IMO what makes an MVP and champion.MVP is nice, but not as nice as being SUPER BOWL champions! HUNTFISH69
Tyree did come up big a few times but he's not a big name player that many people know of so he didn't get votes. You do have to give Eli credit for putting together that last drive but still the defense won it for them.
Windy City Walleye Hunter
Not nuf,I am a huge Tyree fan and I have already said that his catch on his helmet was the greatest catch I have seen in my 48 years but the defense held Superman down for 60 minutes. They had their lowest point total of the whole year. If you are not going to single out one individual (although that is what MVP means) I would give it to the entire defense. Somebody from the defense should be driving that Escalade, not Eli.Windy
Nate McVey
Asanti Samuel should've been MVP. He had the game ending interception in his hands and dropped it! Eli didn't play well enough to deserve the MVP, IMHO. It should have gone to one of the "D" lineman.............
Central Bassman
I dont really care who got MVP that much!!! The gaints won and thats all that matters to me!!!
Flaco651
The D was great, but I don't have a problem with Eli getting the MVP. He did lead his team to two fourth quarter touchdowns against another pretty good defense.
PierBridge
It was a no-brainer and and easy pick for Eli to win the MVP.I hate the Manning's but they both derserved to be MVP of the Super Bowl no doubt! That escape from the sack in the 4th was enough for the MVP in itself let alone his solid play throughout the game. lawdog
I thought Eli was an obvious choice too. The defense as a unit was outstanding, but I didn't really think one player stood out too much on that unit, they all played so well. Eli lead TWO come from behind and take the lead drives in the fourth quarter, he deserved the MVP. Reality is QB's always get a lot of the credit and a lot of the blame, he's taken more than his share of blame already, and he deserves the rewards too. Farley
He's plain lucky he didnt get picked off on that last drive. Twice the defenders touched the ball in the air on two incomplete passes, that was after he lost the ball when he hit the ground scrabling on another play. I thought for sure he was going to blow it. But either way good job Eli, you saved me $100.
soldoncass
I do not disagree with Eli as MVP. He engineered that winning drive at the end of the game, so he was as deserving as any one person. Anytime you are talking about a TEAM game like football, you can always talk about other players who contributed to the win. For that reason I have never liked personal awards for a team game much. The Lombardi trophy means more I think anyway.
