huntnfishsd
Remember a couple episodes ago when Phil dozed off at the wheel? After they finally got him to wake up, he immediately fired up a smoke! Quite the life...
Tim Boomgarden
wasn't it like 52 red bulls that phil went through in like five days or something!!!
Central Bassman
yea it was close to that, like 56 or something. Either way thats not good!!! I think its interesting that all the captains smoke or crew.

eyepatrol
Well, I wonder if Phil finally gets on some crab this episode??? If not, he's going to be plum dry of redbulls and fire through those cigs like it's no man's business!Don't know why, but it seems Sig has a real burr in his saddle this year. Not the Sig from the past 2 seasons.Should be an interesting watch yet again tonight!
Central Bassman
It will be a good show tonight, i think Phil is going to hit the mother load SOON!!!!Sig seems crabby!!!! It will be interesting to see how the fight go's on the NW. That kid in the yellow runs his mouth a lot more this year and it might get him in trouble tonight!!! Will see... Can't Wait!!! eyepatrol
Yeah, they might be regretting giving him the jacket last year. Now he feels like he's a regular, but if I'm not mistaken, I think they're still calling him a greenhorn.Speaking of greenhorns, I wonder if Moi has a meltdown soon! Central Bassman
I have a feeling that Moi wont get off when they go back to port to unload!!!! But will see
huntnfishsd
My predictions for tonight's show...-Moi "accidentally" falls overboard and no one knows of it...-Phil meets his quota of crab in 1 string of pots...-The NW has a "Battle Royale" to determine supremacy on the boat...Anything I am missing?? eyepatrol
The Time Bandit remains 2 men short of a full deck crew.
huntnfishsd
Ah yes, thank you eyepatrol! This is really going to affect the way they do things. Maybe they can go to Dutch Harbor and pick someone up from the local pub...
BigGrassBass
I think Moi goes crazy and tries to kill everyone on board, only to find out using a plastic spoon as a weapon doesn't work the greatest!

huntnfishsd
Another great show tonight!! My predictions seemed to go pretty well too! Phil hit the crab and the Northwestern had a fight! However, we never heard from Moi. Maybe they wanted to give him a break.Any thoughts about this new boat comin in?
bassNspear
It was a great show again. Im glad for phil that he ended up finding crab. He needed it bad as he was getting alittle crazy. Northwesterns fight was stupid. Not real sure what to think about a new boat. Should mix things up a bit.

Grant
Northwestern; It is interesting how Junior can get Matt's goat just by being motivated to suceed.... and that this is apparently noticed by both Captain Sig and Edgar. Also interesting, is that Edgar seems to be taking Jake under his wing even more this season than last. Of course, it may be contrived, but if it's authentic it to me is one of the more compelling stories of the series so far... my prediction is that Junior will thrive, and Matt will either flame out, or remake himself completely by the end of the season. Corneila Marie; my hunch is that Captain Phil will have a heart attack or other serious health meltdown this season... much of the commentary has been about his habits and condition thus far, even to the point of his son having to give him a pep talk. and yes, he'll stuff the tanks sooner or later. Interesting how they aired the remark from Captain Keith about his reservations when Phil asked for advise... wonder if this will develop into anything over the season. Early Dawn; Owner's kid drama playing out... will he stay or go? could go either way, but it has at least one more episode to play out. Captain (can't remember his name) seems like a reasonable, but no nonsense fellow. More comment on this crew in time I guess. Wizard; The "two captains on the same boat" arc was interesting, however I missed most of that sequence..... Time Bandit; Mixed feelings on Captain Jonathan's kid (Scotty I think?) leaving... although I do understand the rationale completely. On one hand he did quit, and first of all leave the Time Bandit shorthanded, as well as pretty much ensure that the Hillstrand legacy will end when Captains Jonathan and Andy decide to hang it up. on the other hand having two little ones myself I would have serious reservations about (A) being out of their lives for that amount of time, and ( putting myself at that high of a risk of not coming home at all.... that would give me serious pause. Although, in the end I think it was the most respectful thing he could have done for his dad and uncle, as he wouldn't have been 100% invested in the job, and as such a liability to himself and everyone else on board. walleyes12
Another great show! I am relieved phil found the crab at the end, actually he found the mother load!! Northwestern, has to be one of the hardest working boats out there! There is alot of pride out on that boat!
eyepatrol
Yeah, the Northwestern has got to be one of the hardest, if not THE hardest working boat out there. Sig runs them ragged. If I heard correctly when Jake was talking last night, there's a long line of guys that want to get on the Northwestern and he really doesn't want to lose his spot on the boat. Obvious reasons too. It was interesting how things played out between Matt and Jake last night. Jake seems to really have a strong passion for crabbing and wants to learn all the ropes on deck. Matt seemed like he was more there for the check. Just do the work and get his pay, which probably was part of Jake getting under his skin.I'm not sure about adding the new boat to the show right when they're about to make their final run (last couple shows). Should have had them on the show from the beginning. There will have to be some strong personalities on this new boat they feature if they want to draw my attention. Otherwise I'm happy watching the Northwestern, CM, TB and Wizard.A little surprised they didn't show much of the Time Bandit last night, but there probably wasn't much to show since they just off-loaded, had the electrical problem and maybe that was about it? As always, it was a great show and the next one doesn't look like it'll disappoint either!
AceintheHole
If there not catching crab they are not to happy to be out there and tensions rise very quickly. Red Gold.
mechanictim
This is my opinion on the Jake VS. Matt brawl. First I am surprised that Jakes Barnyard fighting style took convict Matt down to the deck so fast. Since it appears that Edgar, by putting up the sign, knew that Jake needed to be reminded to concentrate on his job to keep safe and productive, he knew there was something up. Then Jake turns to the camera and comments that he knows how to push the rest of the crews buttons and is going too do so. Matt having been recently incarcerated should be the last guy to start after someone for a fight while on camera since he probably is still on probation. Double bad for then making the comments about what he was planning for Jake. Both these guys should be left on the pier after the next unload. They showed Edgar handing out knife belts just a week or so ago and if Matt had reached for his knife after getting knocked down by Jake things would have gotten ugly real fast. And Jake while his enthusiasm is great has shown poor judgement in dealing with his crewmates. Last season he tried to prank Edgar with the clip to the suspenders try and now trying to show off for the camera how he get the rest of the crews goat. The job is dangerous enough without having to worry about getting killed by a crewwmate. Hopefully the cameraman showed Sig what happened and let him make an informed decision. In my opinion Jake needas to mature quite a bit and Matt needs a less stressful job, maybe something to do with flowers.
