Awesome show tomight. Was tough to see the kid go, you could really see how much his dad enjoyed having him on board.

I really feel for Phil and the Cornelia Marie. He is a great guy and it stinks that his honey hole is no more!! Hopefully Opi (sp) season is much better for them!

Also, who thinks that the Wizard should toss that greenhorn Moi overboard?? What a waste of space!! I am not saying I could handle all the stress and such, but come on! I couldn't let my team down like that!

Great one tonight, the Hanson family is a interesting family they just want to push eachother as far as possible. I hate to see Phil suffer like this hes havin a horrible year. Is it just me or does it seem like everytime Moi talks it sounds like he is crying??? I cant wait for next week the horn from Northwestern gets into it with other people on board should be great.

Moi always sounds like he is going to cry! He also looks like he is gonna cry too! Those are 2 things that do NOT work on a crab boat! Pretty soon the Wizard might be yelling "Man overboard!!" and not really care!!

I think that Sig said about 4 words on the show tonight, the other ones were bleeped out. The limits that those guys push themselves to is crazy, When the Hillstrands said "Its a life style" they meant it.

I think that Phil will pull through and salvage his season.

I like how Moi was talking all big and tough before the ships left to go out and fish for carbs. I don't think he will get off though when they go back to port to unload. Something tells me that isn't how they would want the show to go. Yes, i think he is a baby but will see what happens.

I love how Edger wouldn't give in to Sig, that was SWEEEET!!!! Another great show can't wait tell next's week.

I know... that was awesome. The Captain is supposed to be the "Captain" of the boat but you can tell those guys are a team all the way.

Sure hope Phil finds the crab. He probably just set on the motherload now and those guys will have so much crab coming on deck they won't know what to do with it. We'll see...

It's gotta be stressful when you have that much at stake and you are getting 5-10 crabs/pot. The captain's gotta make payments on the boat, pay the enormous fuel bill, and also be responsible for getting enough crab to properly pay the crew. I'm sure it's a blast when they are pulling 50-100 per pot, but it's got to drive you nuts when you can't find 'em.

My favorite part was when Phil was calling to all the other captains for help and there was nothing but static! Competitive guys out there.

I though it was pretty lousy for the Hillstrand kid to leave during the season. I mean man up and finish what you started. That being said, I don't blame him for wanting to be with his family and give them more of a normal life.

How about Johnathan from the Time Bandit slipping and falling between the boat and the dock? Not only was he in danger of drowning in 35 degree water but he could have been crushed by the ship. He's a lucky guy that the crew was right there. The more I see them, the more I like those guys. Although I would have stayed clear of Spiderman after he had a few beers.

Moi is and forever will be called "frowny face" in our house. If he doesn't stop complaining he is going to get a mouth full of bait pretty soon. He'll shape up; he has already come a long way.

Phil will be just fine, but it'll take a little more drama before it gets better.

I didn't like how Sig and Edgar were testing eachother with that much money and other guys lives on the lines. We all know the more tired you get the sloppier you get, and even in calm weather there is huge risk in everything they do. 36+ hrs straight? That's nuts.

I'm up in the air about the Hillstrand (Scott?) boy leaving. On one hand, it's tough to put your job in front of your family. On the other hand, that job was providing for his family and keeping them fed. Good luck to him either way.

I like how they are running some home footage and some non-boat footage to get a better backstory on these guys. Adds a new element to the show.

Yeah, great question. Do you think maybe he fishes only Opilio crab?? I guess I never really cared for the guy, but it was fun to see how the other skippers and him went back and forth monkeyin around with each other's pots.

I don't miss him either. I think he was too cocky for his own good. Those guys all need a healthy ego, but he hadn't put in his time as captain long enough in my opinion.

I have to go back to what Black Bay said about Hillstrand falling off the dock. What a way that would have been to go out with everybody else in Halloween costumes.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
