Question for the ladies

This is what I do: A bucket in my portable with all the windows shut and then dump the bucket away from my shack and put TP in a baggie so it's not going in the lake upon on ice-out.

My sister in law: Pulls her portable away from her holes and the group, pees right on the ice, puts TP in baggie, pulls her house back to her holes and voila! job done.

Hope this helps anyfishwilldo! \:D

Why wouldn't I be serious? Living in a home dominated by the other sex, I am trying to be sympathetic to the fact that they just cant go anywhere without a production.

It's a legitimate question. I am always extremely happy that my sister in law can answer tons of my "private" questions since she's fished longer than me. There is no such thing as a dumb question here. The logistics on the potty problem has always been weird for women and it's best to be prepared before you get on the ice/boat.

5 gal. bucket with a toilet seat ( you can get them at FF made for 5 gal buckets ) use regular kitchen garbage bags for liners. I also glued a tip up hole foam cover to the top of mine. It then doubles as a table in my shack.

Keep it in the shack all the time, when they have to go, you leave \:\)

Mine fits perfect next to my chair and is used more for a side table, then anything else, but comes in handy when needed. Going outside isn't so bad though, --- its not like we don't know what you guys are doing when you turn your back to us \:D

I not sure who makes it but its called the lil jon,its a smaller red container with a handle on it. Men can pop the top and go, or they also make a female adapter for it. You can find them at Gander i know, think its like $5.00 adapter is also like $5.00. We use it in boat in summer, saves going to shore for her to go. She can go in that thing, cap it and dump it on shore when we get there.

I use these often when traveling and out fishing, both in the ice shack or on a boat. They work awesome

you "go" into these, it turns to a gel, no smell, no spillage

women can use this with no need to drop the drawers.

My girlfriend tried using the adapter thing but she hates it. She told me that it is just too awkward. She actually bought it for summer fishing in the boat. The other problem is, in order to use it, you have to be standing and all the other boaters give her weird looks. She prefers to use a ice cream pale and a bag for the TP. That way she can squat below the sides of the boat, and no body know anything is going on.

So that adapter is a no go for her in the boat? I don't think I'd like to stand up either! In the boat, I strategically postion myself between my seat back and the livewell step-up with an ice cream pail too. I just look like I'm taking a break and sitting on that little ledge. I'm low down and no one knows the difference! I still can't believe I'm posting this all here but if it helps any other woman then I've done my work for the day! I sure wish I knew about this site when I first starting fishing. It would've been so nice for this advice!

I know exactly what you are going through anyfishwilldo. I have a house full of estrogen as well. Me and the girls fish all the time. I love it when someone comes to our fish house and sees the trusty 5 gallon bucket with the bottom cut out of it. That's how we do it. I simply cut the bottom of the pail out and they take it outside behind the truck or any strategic place they feel right and do thier business. A simple baggie for the TP like everyone else said. On the open water, we have what's called the luggable lou. I got it from Sportsmans Guide, it's a toilet seat with lid that fits any standard 5 gallon bucket, we then use a garbage bag. My daughters have also very carefully used the livewell, let me tell you that sometimes proves to be very hillarious, if you hit the fill button a little to early to flush it out, you get some pretty loud screaches!!!! heheheehe

great post, by the way, no reason the girls shouldn't be as comfortable about the lake as us.

I also live in a house of women. My daughters are still young (5 and 7) so they think the bucket is neat. I'm sure as teenagers they won't think its funny anymore, but my wife certainly doesn't mind. When we hike-in camp, its open woods or pit toilet so they are very comfortable out there.

The other thing that shouldn't be overlooked, is to ask the ladies in your life what they would like. Some will have a preference and if that is a deal-breaker than what everyone here says doesn't matter.

Great question.

How is doing the thing while out fishing any different than having to pull over along the highway or having to go behind a building or a hedge? Have you tried asking your wife what would make her comfortable out there? The girls will go with what mom thinks is good.

It's not a dumb question but it is a strange one. I'm still having a tough time believing that you're serious in asking it.

With all due respect, the females in my life (mother, wife, daughter, female officers, friends, etc.) have been able to do their thing under all kinds of situations without my interference.

Yea - if you really have to go, it can fill up quickly \:o

they are great for boats though. I'll bring 3 or 4 out for a whole day. They turn to gel, so no worries about spilling. I squat low in the boat and use them. Don't have to then haul around a big bucket.

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
