Nothing like a few Yo Yos to grill up Gary. A nice big Brown would be a good pic as would a 30# laker.

I just talked to Jim and wheelers are still good. We are headed out of Red Cliff on Friday morning. Poutslayer and I will probably get there about 8:30 am or so. We will fish lakers all day and be back to OA at dark.

Ran Jim says to get your butt down and chase lakers with us Friday morning. Both of us have a rod to use so dont worry. Plus we will have plenty of tackle.

Report is it was a very good time. temps were warm at times but when the wind picked up it got a bit chilly. If you were in your house you didnt really need heat much.

As far as fishing it was very slow. Ran, Poutslayer, myself all picked up a few trout and or pout. Splake were small and few and far between.

Today Ran and his crew went and pounded some crappies and myself, Ripstick and Poutslayer pounded some eyes in the Top Secret A1 blindfold you there and back spot. crazy.gif Each of us got a few dinks and we all got some nice keepers. Poutslayer put on a clinic at 1st but after I found out his top secret bait we all switched up and had some fun. Biggest eye was about 20" and fat and several 17-19's were going home for a oil bath. grin.gif

Thanks to everyone who showed up and brought food and goodies. Man did we have the food and beverages. "No No wallee dont open that freezer door again." ;\)

Ran how many and how big were them crappies? We may have to hit that spot again when I have the proper sticks with.

A big thanks to Craig at outdoor allure! The bunk house is great and at the price it acnt be topped.

Also a huge thanks to Jim Hudson for giving us some of his Laker spots and showing us rookies how to cut bait etc. I hope that spot worked out for your clients today Jimbo.

Give me a holler when the splake tip up on spawn bags bite heats up. That sounds like a blast.

Oh and to the local Law Enforcement Officer that scolded Outdoorran for his obvious reckless snowmobiling dont worry he learned his lesson. "Catch me if ya can". whistle.gif

Oh and Loonasea no amount of sleep can make you a beauty dude. Best to just hang with the boys at the freezer. ;\)

Til next years Cheesehead Event guys good fishin.

Wow, I'm beat. This weekend was a blast. For those of you that couldn't make it, you missed a great time.

First off, I'd like to thank Craig at outdoor allure for the good deal on his lodge. I highly recommend anybody looking for a place to stay to check it out. I want to thank Jim Hudson for spending some time with us on friday and teaching me some things about laker fishing. You're right, there are some big fish out there. He did short work of that rod. I still feel bad about that! Hope you like your replica, enjoy. Wade it was finally nice to meet you. As soon as you left I landed 2 lakers, my first ones through the ice.

To the rest of the guys back at the freezer, it was a blast listening to all the stories, my gut stills hurts from laughing so much. \:\) Its not every day you can get pulled over on a lake by a cop car while you're sitting still. That will teach me to stop and wait. Next time I'm just gonna run with you outlaws! \:\)

With our limited fishing time today, we decided to try that crappie lake another time and we stopped in iron river for 3 hours and caught some really nice bluegills, since it was on the way home.

Thanks Northlander for taking care of the details and making sure the crew was fed. I'll try to get some pictures up in the next couple of days. Can't wait until next years.

I had a great time even though I only fished one day (Sat) and only caught one little dink laker. It was nice to finally meet Outdoorran, I am hoping to catch up with him again sometime soon for some gills or crappies.. Good seeing JAR JAR, Northlander, Poutslayer, Ripstick, Cheffery and Loonasea as well as a few others again.

Ran, nice to hear you caught a few lakers. I did not have the gear for that deep of water and the cohos and splake weren't co-operating in shallower water, oh well, thats why its called fishing and not catching. I thought the weather was great and it was a fun day out on the ice.

I got to try antelope for the first time. I will be telling those who I know who have told me it isn't fit to eat that they are indeed taste bud impared.

I guess when you cross the ice road on a sled or wheeler you must insure there are no cars on the road anywhere, 300 yds is not enough distance to give "right of way" to the cars.

I didn't see any stop signs confused.gifgrin.gif I guess you need 200yds between you and a car instead of 100yds grin.gif Well it was a great time , good weather, good eats and even better B.S.ING. Hey Rip, how far did you get before losing your shack? grin.gif Whoever missed this missed a great time. Ran, how did the picts turn out? And thank you all for the great meal at the end of the day and I wish we could have stayed alittle longer.

Thanks to all involved it was a great turnout.

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
