Got a buddy getting married this fall. Loves hunting!!! Has a dog. Hunts mostly waterfowl, some phesant, a little deer. Question is what is that one or two gadgets/toy's that you wish you had or do have that normaly you would not have spent the money on but now just love it! Remember he hunts everything...boat stuff, dog stuff, gun stuff, at home hunting stuff....

$400.00 or less because you only get married a couple times in your life.

Lets hear some good ideas!

Thanks!

A handheld GPS and a range finder are two things that come to mind.

This may sound weird but if it were me I would make sure his new Mrs. isn't going to feel left out by you buying gifts that are designed for his use. I have a couple friends whose wives wouldn't appreciate a gift that will make their husbands want to be gone more weekends!

Maybe she enjoys the outdoors and would use of them else well.

the women always get gifts they want when you get married....i.e new plates, silverware, towels bedding....I mean really when I got married I appreciated the things we got but we didn't need them and I could care less if we got them or not.......but if out of all the gifts I had recieved one fishing rod and reel or a GPS with a chip I would have been happy as one could be!!! The GPS idea is great....hey she can be happy that now she can expect him to return with out getting lost and on time!!! grin.gif

I think the GPS is a great idea. If he already has one you could get him mapping software for the US to show public land, elevation changes etc. or get him a chip to show all of the lakes in the midwest with depth contours, weeds, points etc.

That's a good compromise Harvey..........I would also suggest a camcorder as well. A buddy of mine got married and we secretly set up a camcorder in the back of the church and then gave it to them at the reception as their gift. If they already have a videographer then this idea wouldn't be that neat, but if they don't, they'll remember that everytime they use it.

LOL. Thats pretty funny.

If he hunts mostly waterfowl you could get him a nice blind that I always see at those hunting stores. I always like the round hay bale that the top opens up on. Be pretty good for goose hunting. When I got married all my buddies went in and got me/us a very nice grill. Good luck!!

for deer hunting, without a doubt, a trail camera. for a duck hunter get him a case of the new Wingmaster HD. i here its an improvement over regular steel. but very spendy. the GPS is probably the best idea i think the new bushnell ONIX looks like it would be awesome with satelite imagery and topo maping overlayed.
