Juan Grande
Here are some pics from Mille Lacs last weekend. Got my personal best smallie (hair under 5 lbs) and biggest largie of the year within 5 minutes of each other (5 lbs). Most fish were caught on rock piles with a jig and plastic craw. 20" and close to 5 lbs [image][/image] 5 lb largie [image][/image] [image][/image] [image][/image] Nice sunset [image][/image]

tfsh4bass
Another great trip to Minnesota and I really appreciate all the info I have gotten off this board before my trips. I fished Mille Lacs 2 days plus Clearwater, Borden, Thunder, Eagle, Baby, and Mule while I was up there this year. We caught a ton of smallmouth, largemouth, pike, and even a couple muskies. We had a great time and again if any of you come down this way (Missouri) I will be happy to help out. Here are a few of the smallmouth we caught on Mille Lacs

Juan Grande
tfsh4bass, Nice smallies, I'm hooked on those Mille Lacs piggies too. What presentations/baits were working for you?
tfsh4bass
We fished Mille Lacs on Thursday and Friday with Thursday being the much better day...pretty windy with showers in the area. We caught everything on crawdad (red or green) pattern wiggle warts, lucky craft pointer 78 (Table Rock shad pattern mostly)and I tie my own spinnerbaits but the pattern was pretty basic gold shad or goldie as I call it. Most fish came on the spinnerbait worked very erratic in less than 4 feet of water off rocky points or flats with scattered rock...wind seemed very important also plus I used very small blades because the baitfish seemed pretty small. We caught over 40 in the 2 days with most being in the 2.5 to 4 range but did catch 3 over 5lbs. Also, caught a 4lb largemouth and a few other solid ones mixed in with the brownies. Here is the spinnerbait I used and it works very well for me in the clear water I fish around here for smallmouth...for the record I only tie them for me so I am not trying to sell anything I really loved fishing the lake and wish I would have taken another day to fish it but I really enjoyed the other lakes also. Clearwater and Thunder in particular were GREAT lakes and highly recommended. I thought about coming up your guys way again in a few weeks but I will probably head down to Lake Fork instead. Good luck and I will hang around to see how the fish are biting.

river rat316
Stamina head?
tfsh4bass
Yes, I use their light wire bodies with 1/2oz heads. I always throw 1/2oz because I can make very long cast in clear water plus I throw my spinnerbaits on 12lb test and use a glass rod. I paint my own white and chart heads but haven't messed with the gold because theirs looks pretty good.

tfsh4bass
I agree about them fighting but I am Corey on the sex part I loved Mille Lacs and wish I would have spent more time on her but I will take care of that next year. Good luck the rest of the season and our fishing is just starting to get good here with water temps in the mid to upper 70's. Once the water gets below 65 it is prime time around here all the way until it gets in the low 40's around the first of the year.
