BigWadeS
Anyone have any ideas how I can get my toliet tank from sweating?
RobertELee
First thing to check though is if the flapper valve leaks, put food coloring into the tank, wait a couple hours and if the water in the bowl is colored time to get a new flapper. If not that, the best thing I have found is a hot water "mixer" valve which can be installed onto the water line, this will bring warm water into the tank and stop the sweating. marine_man
I've got a similar problem and haven't done anything about it yet.One other option I found was to put a insulation kit on the inside of the tank which was pretty much foam glued to the inside of the tank... which doesn't sound like a lot of fun to me, but probably cheaper than the mixer valve.marine_man
Powerstroke
Our basement toilet is only fed by hot water. It doens't get used nearly as much, but it keeps it from sweating.

bgmny
It sounds like your toilet is running all the time, your constantly running cold water through your tank making it sweat. Is your supply line sweating too? If it is I would guess you need to look inside the tank to figure out why.

Eric Wettschreck
You can install a mixer valve to feed your toilet warmer water, or pipe it to fill with hot water, or insulate the tank, or remove the humidity from the room with air conditioning or dehumidifier. SWMuskeye
Maybe its sweating from you dropping one too many "Big Wades" into it-sorry, I couldn't resist...
bucketmouth64
I had a tempering valve installed so both toilets up and downstairs have "warm" water running through. Haven't had a sweating problem since. The valve can be adjusted as to how warm you want it to stop the sweating.
BigWadeS
I'm surprised it took this long for something like this to appear...no pun intended at all ....trying the insulation kit and see where that takes it

Shack
My mother had found a decorative outside skirt, which had insulation on in side of skirt. It wrapped around tank from outside. I can not think of the place she got it from, but it blended in with decor of bathroom. It stopped water sweat and dripping sweat. In the 80's and 70's (possibly further) one would see them all the time. It matched tank cover skirt, lid cover skirt, but I do remember the whole idea of it was to stop sweating. When in doubt, ask you mom Good luck!
stick
I recently did the insulation kit, but it didn't do a ton to help. It cut down on the sweating, but not entirely. I may not have had the proper adhering to the outside of the tank, but I wasn't too impressed. I was thinking about going retro (with the outer wraps) or the tank drip catchers, but may just replace the toilet (or just tank) to the newer sweat-proof ones. wayne123
The styrofoam kit for the inside of my tank work for all but the most humid days. It is only at my cabin so I called it good enough.
The_Duckslayer
In my folks house they have mixer valves on the pipes for them to make the water coming into the tank warm. Never sweats at all! However after a bunch of folks have been in there the water it warm to sit over! Take care and N Joy the Hunt././Jimbo
